Connections streaming full discography, touring to SXSW

Connections

If you’re unfamiliar with Columbus, OH band Connections, they spent the last year writing brief blasts of lo-fi guitar rock like crazy, ending up with two LPs — Body Language and Private Airplane — and the Tough City EP. This of course makes it tempting to compare them to another insanely prolific Ohio lo-fi band, Guided by Voices, and GBV fans will likely find something to dig here. As will Dinosaur Jr fans, mostly because those rippin’ guitar solos in “Girl’s Night Out” and “Summer Creeps” are the kind to drive you wild, but had little to no place in indie rock before J Mascis came along. As Stereogum points out, these guys are already mixing their third full length, but if you’ve slept on any of their material thus far, you can check out all of it in their new Year One compilation, which is streaming below.

Connections also have a number of dates coming up (unfortunately none in NYC), including Savannah Stopover, SXSW, and a tour with Ex Hex in between.
