DIIV at Baby's All Right on NYE (more by Amanda Hatfield)
DIIV

A concert series called Painted BLACK is returning to NYC and will feature three shows at Irving Plaza. Presented by NYC's MATTE Projects, Painted BLACK "is an exploration of a color and a lifestyle through a live experience. In the pursuit of this, the musical acts will be paired with visual artists, stage builders, sculptors, fashion designers, and filmmakers, creating unique pieces to be debuted at the series."

The first show, which coincides with Fashion Week, happens on February 13 and features electronic musicians Klangkarussell (DJ), Thomas Azier (live), and Stefan Biniak (DJ). Tickets for that one are on sale now.

The second one is more indie-rock oriented, featuring live sets by DIIV and Guards, plus a DJ set by Twin Shadow. Tickets for that one are on sale now.

Stay tuned for the third and final show to be announced. Flyer for the DIIV/Guards/Twin Shadow show, plus a video of DIIV from 285 Kent's last show, below...

TRANSLATION:
Pretentious candy coating of heroin abuse / addiction and entitled uselessness

how can anyone utter the phrase "an exploration of a color and a lifestyle" without feeling like they died inside? is it made possible by taking harmful substances so that they are made oblivious to how stupid they seem?
