Doors are already open for tonight's Brooklyn Night Bazaar (1/17) the music portion of which features a line-up curated by the folks at Le Poisson Rouge with MNDR, The Dolls and more. Add one more name to that as they just announced that Grammy-winning rapper Eve will be playing too. Whether it's a full set or just a few songs, we're not sure but she's on at 10 PM. Brooklyn Night Bazaar is free and open to the public (though there's usually a line to get in).

In related news, The Hollywood Reporter, uh, reports that Eve, who has acted in such films as the two Barbershop films and Vin Diesel's xXx, is developing a sitcom for ABC that could be slated for the 2014-2015 season.

Posted by Anonymous | January 17, 2014 10:46 PM

You fuck heads who are dissing eve are probably hipster mofos that know shit about music.....ALL HISPTERS ARE POSERS..."look at me Im a hipters so original" but you are all carbon copies if one another. " look at me im like a modern age hippie" a hippie with an iphone and ipad? Wtf? And then the other half of you idolize the 90s...guess what eve is the 90s ear a dick.

Posted by Havoc | January 18, 2014 12:03 AM

Yeah, but she was the bad 90's, not the good 90's.

Posted by Anonymous | January 18, 2014 12:11 AM

How da fuck would a poser ass hispter know what was good in the 90s? Use the flux capacitor much? If she was outselling at the time is cuz she was out shinning her contemporaries. Now go through your 12inch vinyl lps(cuz thats hipster thing to own according to urban outfitters) and plot time line little boy/girl. Stop irking me.

if you get annoyed by hippies with apple products, then I don't think that I, or anyone else who visits this site, are really able to stop irking you.
As for outselling, we all know that street teams would be reimbursed for going out and purchasing every copy of the release they were assigned to promote. There is no other possible explanation for the existence of the "cassingle" in the 90's. (I know that people are myopic and dumb, but not so dumb as to pay $7.99 for one song.)
My fond memory of 90's hype run amok is how Wu Tang Clan was given the secret free code for "The Box", and gave it out to their promotion people to make "Protect Ya Neck" the big hit of 1995.
I'm typing all this out because you equated sales with consumer preference and quality, when there were people whose jobs were solely to increase the sales numbers without any quality or consumer preference.

bought her record at age 12 and I'm still scared of that big black pussy

Posted by Anonymous | January 18, 2014 9:27 AM

Cassette singles were never $7.99

Posted by Anonymous | January 18, 2014 9:34 AM

Here, I fix'd it for ya 9:27:

"bought her record at age 12 and I'm still a big pussy that's scared of blacks"

Posted by Anonymous | January 18, 2014 9:40 AM

Yes, as 9:34 said, cassette singles were never that expensive. They were a buck. Don't know what the fuck youre rambling about.

Posted by Anonymous | January 18, 2014 10:49 AM

People actually bought cassette singles? I thought they were all promo materials for the album. I guess kiddos will spend mommy's and daddy's money on anything.

Posted by Anonymous | January 18, 2014 11:47 AM

Yo! Why is everybody hating on Cassette Singles around here? They always had a different edit in the b-side, and these cassettes are fetching mad dough these days.

Posted by Anonymous | January 18, 2014 12:03 PM

2:44 - Sales don't mean shit. Shit is shit no matter how many people bought it.

Posted by Anonymous | January 18, 2014 12:44 PM

"Shit is shit"

Lemme guess, you know a lot of hedge fund managers too? From your days at Princeton?

Posted by Anonymous | January 18, 2014 1:08 PM

A cassette single is how I always buy my music.

Posted by Anonymous | January 18, 2014 1:23 PM

EAR A DICK

Posted by Anonymous | January 18, 2014 1:25 PM

I have multiple shoe boxes packed with the greatest cassette singles from 1987-1998.
Including that song "I like to Move it Move it" which is still one of the greatest songs ever recorded.

"If she was outselling at the time is cuz she was out shinning her contemporaries."

This argument requires that in every case, without exception, the reason one record sells more copies than another record is that it is a better record. Are you really willing to make this claim? Your argument depends on it.

Hav is right hipster=wack.. never met a real hippie with a cell phone either. I have to agree with 1:28pm more sales doesnt necessarily mean better. for instance some apple product out sell competitors and ithink lots of apples products are over priced crap...Wozniak made some great things happen for apple but the market has cought up..don't believe the hype ..long live Woz #earAdick

I'm not saying all the music is bad now a days, but seriously music used to be way better back then. There's still good music now, but it's not the same as it used to be. I Love Eve <3 awesome song :)
