ex hex

Mary Timony's new glammy rock trio, Ex Hex, will be releasing their debut album at some point this year on Merge. Meanwhile, you'll be able to see the band live this March when Ex Hex head out on tour. NYC will see two shows near the end of their trip: Glasslands on March 20 with Household, and March 21 at Mercury Lounge. Tickets for Glasslands go on sale Friday (1/10) at 10 AM while Mercury Lounge tickets go on Friday at noon with an AmEx presale starting Wednesday (1/8) at noon.

Ex Hex's only NYC show to date was at BrooklynVegan's all-day party during CMJ 2013 where they were terrific. As mentioned, the band will also be playing the Savannah Stopover and while they haven't been announced for SXSW, there is a big Texas-sized gap in their tour schedule during the dates of the fest. I'm 50 years old, so 80s music is permanently imprinted in my brain. In this Internet Age (which I pre-date) I want you people to use the internet, with or without drugs to your content, and explore music beyond that of your parents' or even grandparents' age. Get medieval. Listen to all of it and if you come up with this shit, awesome. If not, awesome. Just take advantage of the exponentially broadened horizons available to you. <3
