Damn, I didn't think anything could be worse than firefly

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 10:48 AM

What year are we in again? This lineup seems dated to me.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 10:48 AM

Big full lineup of mid tier acts!

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 10:48 AM

i think i want to see enough of these with some curiosity left over for some of the others.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 10:51 AM

The ladder 2 Gov Ball lineups were way better.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 10:51 AM

No Queens of the Stone Age!

Really! WTF

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 10:51 AM

DAMON ALBARN BUT NO BLUR WTF!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 10:56 AM

the offspring is going to be added, and is headlining the second night.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 10:57 AM

Blur was never good.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 10:57 AM

The last ALL POINTS WEST was better than this. WTF

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 10:57 AM

^ the last all points west was really good.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 10:58 AM

i like it. everyone else can go to coachella

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 10:59 AM

Osheaga is always the best

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:00 AM

Sick. Love it. Will just be super fun. Please don't add some shitty bigger act unless it's radiohead once every 4 years.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:00 AM

Boring lineup

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:01 AM

this line-up is pretty good i think. i still don't wanna go, though.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:01 AM

This is totally a bridge and tunnel lineup

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:01 AM

it's 2005!

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:02 AM

not too bad, actually

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:02 AM

I can't believe people still take Vampire Weekend seriously

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:03 AM

I'm with you 10:56. Been waiting for Blur to come back to NY since Coachella last year, oh well.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:04 AM

Only going cus its prolly gonna be the only show Outkast is gonna play in NYC

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:04 AM

Cuny hunter freshmen are stoked

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:04 AM

Great line up. You miserble fucks can have fun jerking off at the Knife improv gay-off.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:08 AM

^^ I would have expected a Bridge and Tunnel homophobic bro to lose their mind to this lineup.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:11 AM

Damon Albarn announced a solo tour last year where he's performing his discography, including Gorillaz. I'm more down for that then a Blur set.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:11 AM

^wrong venue though...crowd won't dig it at the 40,000 capacity Randalls Island...amirite

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:13 AM

I guess this lends credence to the rumour that Jack White is putting out another solo album this year.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:15 AM

+The Strokes

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:18 AM

The Strokes just got added

Posted by texastab | January 15, 2014 11:18 AM

I'm sure there won't be torrential rain and apocalyptic mud again this year.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:20 AM

Where do you see the strokes?
line up should have arctic monkeys..

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:22 AM

No Replacements?

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:23 AM

11:08 - bro, do you even know how to music?

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:24 AM

@11:22 Facebook

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:24 AM

Damon Albarn won't do a Blur tour here because he thinks it won't be as successful as Pulp.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:25 AM

OBVIOUSLY FAKE

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:26 AM

Wish they'd break them out for each day. Lots of teeny bopper indie I'd rather skip.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:28 AM

good on their own, collectively it doesn't add up to much.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:28 AM

11:25..Pulp tickets at RCMH were $10 day of show on ebay..really successful

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:28 AM

Yup, Strokes are playing. It's on their Facebook page.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:28 AM

enough there for a day's worth, imo, will wait until they release the schedule, if it sells out before then oh well

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:33 AM

@10:51 - first of all, you mean latter. second of all, you mean former.

Posted by Dana | January 15, 2014 11:51 AM

Do you think the Ipods will be announced to play their sophomoric album "ladder 2" in full?

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:53 AM

I hope jack white plays a real show in NYC other than this. I'd like to see him, but I can't handle these festivals.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:54 AM

What a bunch of whiners. This is a good lineup. Except for the inclusion of the Strokes, who are way overrated.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:54 AM

What a great lineup. Who the hell are bv commenters?

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:55 AM

Di-a-rreh-a Planet! My home!

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:55 AM

The most mature music fest I've been to was definitely pitchfork. Super chill and calm the whole day.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:55 AM

Ladder 2 is overrated.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:56 AM

its not a festival if Muse isn't one of the headliners, count me out.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 12:00 PM

Hilarious. What a garbage lineup.

Posted by Dave | January 15, 2014 12:09 PM

'Member when Jack White played RCMH and acted the bitch? More of dat!

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 12:10 PM

Are these the big headliners, or are they still going to announce more.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 12:12 PM

the only thing i give a shit about on this list is kurt vile

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 12:16 PM

I hope you'll drown in mud you dirty hipster sausages.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 12:17 PM

^ Look everyone, confused old guy is back and he's wearing makeup. Doesn't he look good?

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 12:19 PM

I'd love to go to this BUT then I think of the people that would be standing next to me and the ridiculousness that they'd be exuding and I'd rather go to the beach in June :)

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 12:24 PM

Vampire Weekend is not a headliner level. Jack White is also iffy. Maybe if it were White Stripes...

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 12:38 PM

59 comments and no one mentions the time traveler from 1979 in the red shorts?

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 12:52 PM

when is siren and who is playing?

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 12:52 PM

You guys are insane. This is a great lineup. If this is 'crap' then who would you rather see included?

Posted by Jeff | January 15, 2014 12:53 PM

the strokes are still a band?

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 1:02 PM

Terrible, most of the acts play NYC frequently.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 1:07 PM

wow im actually excited for this there are A LOT of really shitty bands but also so many good ones this is a pleasant surprise

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 1:07 PM

wow deafheaven has broken into US festivals. good for them (not sarcasm)

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 1:14 PM

This "these bands play NYC frequently" argument is so subjective. Not everyone has the time or ability to see all those shows. Graduate school takes precedence in my life personally, and I'm sure other people are in the same boat.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 1:16 PM

LOL Grandpa's Ball more like

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 1:20 PM

1:16 is in graduate school, let's all point and laugh.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 1:20 PM

Seriously... all of you complaining that this is a shitty line up: Let's see you put together a list of 20+ bands that would make it a good lineup for you. Bands THAT ARE CURRENTLY TOURING. I'm genuinely interested to see what you come up with (I'm not being sarcastic).

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 1:22 PM

1:16 is studying Sport Fishing Preparations in his boat-based graduate school, so that when you graduates he will have a Masters in Baiting

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 1:26 PM

If this sells out in less than 24 hours, I will be surprised....

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 1:29 PM

@12:52 would.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 1:30 PM

brooklynvegan comments are youtube-level trolls. so don't mind them. Literally no announcement can ever please these fucks.

this lineup is AMAZING. I'll enjoy my life-changing experience thank you very much.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 1:37 PM

Vampire & Phoenix for the kiddies. So when do they let us know who's playing which day?

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 1:45 PM

1:16 here. 1:26, Yeah that's what I study exactly. Dumb ass.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 1:53 PM

@1:37 you need to leave your NJ cul de sac more often

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 1:58 PM

the most unique piece of this line up compared to other fests is grimes. i love grimes, but that's not enough to make this stand out. really could have used another big headliner.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 1:58 PM

I like this lineup and all, but I really hope Vampire Weekend ignores material from the ladder 2 albums.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 2:00 PM

I wish my college had a course in robust platter creation.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 2:00 PM

1:53 is so angry, must be all that stress from siting on his ass in class all day

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 2:04 PM

To answer whoever's question, I've always been down for Northside Festival. But I suppose those bands wouldn't draw in the bridge and tunnel cum dumpsters.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 2:21 PM

Yeah, this lineup screams montclair state university

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 2:23 PM

Oh man, this is fantastic! I wish that I could make this festival, but my wife is due with our second baby on May 25th (and I'm on the West Coast). They managed to book three of the greatest musicians of the last 15 years as their headliners - Outkast, Jack White and The Strokes. And a killer under card with The Kills, Kurt Vile and Earl Sweatshirt, to name a few.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 2:33 PM

This is totally a bridge and tunnel lineup
Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:01 AM

The Festival is on a fucking island idiot.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 2:38 PM

@2:38 go back to omaha you moron

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 2:44 PM

Who is Axwell & Ingrosso? How old am I?

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 2:56 PM

rain just added to friday. mud expected to be added for saturday.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 3:04 PM

these nyc bands are the ones who took it and ran when the money came in in 2000. They aided in gentrifying the neighborhoods wether they know it or not.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 3:17 PM

Is Catfish and the Bottleman those two dudes from that MTV show?

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 3:20 PM

Zero Population Growith starts here, I motherfucking hope. What a vile, saddening gene pool this looks to be. Please add Interpol and the Pixies too, and let's call it a minor apocalypse.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 3:28 PM

How can you even begin to argue that this is anything but the best festival lineup so far. This completely destroys Coachella.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 3:29 PM

Vampire Weekend headlining? Talentless trustafarians.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 3:43 PM

This is an horrible fucking lineup designed for an NJ crowd.

Coming from someone who lives in NJ.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 3:45 PM

annnnnnnnnnnnnnd music is officially boring.

Posted by d | January 15, 2014 3:46 PM

hey if the lineups not for you DONT GO! def keep commenting tho.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 3:54 PM

^ thanks buddy, and you keep using that spell check big guy

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 4:18 PM

Yeah bro, can't wait to see tyler the fucking creator. Im going to be so fucked up singing to vampire weekend in my Hey ya pinny. Going to be a blast.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 4:30 PM

2:56PM Axwell & Ingrosso were 2/3rds of Swedish House Mafia. You're not alone, I had to look 'em up. Hadn't even heard of Swedish House Mafia until their final year before they broke up!

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 4:32 PM

can someone explain how this is better than coachella on lineup level?

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 4:33 PM

4:33 because you don't have to get on a six hour flight, drive three hours and stand in 105 degree weather surrounded by celebrites and dummies on E for three day.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 4:50 PM

^^ you clearly never went to Govball

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 4:51 PM

I want a pizzone.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 5:05 PM

Osheaga & that festival in the gorge are usually the best festivals.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 5:08 PM

the terrifying part of 4:30's comment is how accurate that really is

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 5:17 PM

"Im going to be so fucked up singing to vampire weekend in my Hey ya pinny"

nice

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 5:23 PM

Meh lineup like all the other announcements. May go one day if enough acts I like line up on one day.

To the dumbfucks demanding the music taste of anyone underwhelmed by this... I'm looking forward to the Merge festival lineup.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 8:26 PM

i'm going to take acid and see chance the rapper

Posted by Anonymous | January 16, 2014 1:53 AM

I just spoke to Damon Albarn yesterday. He suggested you play with his anus if you expect him to play another Blur tour here.

Posted by Anonymous | January 20, 2014 6:58 AM

is jack white doing any other nyc dates ?

Posted by Anonymous | January 22, 2014 3:28 PM

The promoters did a Reddit AMA yesterday where they basically revealed which days about half of the lineup are going to play, including the headliners - Outkast Friday, The Strokes on Saturday and Vampire Weekend on Sunday. They didn't say it direct but implied that Jack White is also playing Saturday (will not overlap with the Strokes).

Thanks for the hilarious comments, Williamsburg Youth

Posted by Donovan | January 31, 2014 4:47 PM

Didn't realize Vampire Wkend and Jack White solo were bigger than the Strokers. Far out. Damon Albarn's set should be interesting.
