Habibi @ Bowery Ballroom in November (more by Dylan Johnson)
Habibi

Habibi's self-titled debut album is due out January 28 via Burger Records. (Fans of limited edition colored vinyl, it's up for pre-order.) You can stream "Let Me In" from it below and is a good example of their appealing, post-punky take on girl group sounds.

The band will be playing a record release show in Brooklyn at Baby's All Right on January 29 with Hector's Pets, Mystery Lights and Jonathan Toubin on DJ duties. Tickets are on sale. Flyer for the show is below.

No other tour dates right now, but Habibi will be at SXSW in March so expect a tour around that. Stay tuned. Song stream, album art and tracklist below...

Burger Records is a scam. If the album comes out in "January" it might ship in May, if at all. Never get fooled into ordering from their website. What a joke of a label.

I feel awful for the women musicians who are mentioned on this site, and the comments to follow. Keep doing your thing girls

I saw this at Burger Records shop in Fullerton yesterday. I should have picked it up. They told me it was a great record. Burger is one of the best independent labels and record stores in California. Ill go back and get it this week.

absolutely terrible live and recorded. No middle eastern influence to be heard and completely incompetent players

Where or when in the video does it even state any affiliation to arabs ? apart from a couple arabic words ? None of the people involved in this video are arabs... If you have the ability to choose something as your idol then you should at least have the courtesy of knowing when it's them and when not. This was truly a jahil statement.
