Kraftwerk

Ever the technological innovators, German electronic music legends Kraftwerk are adding 3-D to their concert experience on their upcoming North American tour. Expect "perfectly synchronized audio-visual spectacle complete with pristine digital sound and breathtaking 3-D projections." There are a few pictures in this post to give you an idea of what to expect. The tour hits NYC at the United Palace Theatre on April 1 and is being billed as "An Evening with Kraftwerk: 3-D Concert." Tickets for the NYC show, which is no April Fool's joke, go on sale to the general public on Friday (1/24) at 10 AM but your first chance at getting tickets will be a BrooklynVegan presale which begins Wednesday (1/22) at 9 AM and runs till Thursday (1/23) at 10 PM. The password for our presale is coming Wednesday morning, so look out for that on this site, in this post included.

UPDATE: PASSWORD IS HERE.

Kraftwerk's 3-D tour also includes three shows at Moogfest, and a just-announced Washington DC show on April 4 at the 9:30 Club. All tour dates are listed, along with more photos of Kraftwerk's 3-D concerts, below...

Thanks BV.

Does anyone know the hummus policy at United Palace? Can you bring your own in from the outside, or will security shut that shit down?

Posted by Anonymous | January 21, 2014 9:51 AM

9:51, pretty strict but I'm guessing if it's robust enough and you slip the door guy a baby carrot or two he might make an exception.

***THIS IS NOT KRAFTWERK*** Only ONE original member remaining! I don't care if this show is in 4D and it causes me to bleed across all time and space—one original member and three dude broes is NOT KRAFTWERK!!! SPREAD THE NEWS NOWWW!!!

Posted by Anonymous | January 21, 2014 11:14 PM

I managed to get two orchestra singles. I'm selling one if anyone is looking!

Posted by CD | January 22, 2014 10:00 AM

I had a great time seeing them at MoMA. I thought it'd be kinda boring watching 4 dudes stand on a stage at podiums pushing buttons, but the 3D graphics really enhanced the music.

Posted by Anonymous | January 22, 2014 10:46 AM

orch L or upper loge? which is better for this show?

Posted by Anonymous | January 22, 2014 10:58 AM

Not even close, Orchestra L is way better

Posted by Anonymous | January 22, 2014 11:15 AM

Surprise, surprise... there's another show on April 2nd.

Posted by Anonymous | January 22, 2014 11:58 AM

Lucky for us, you are completely ignorant when it comes to music.

Posted by Anonymous | January 22, 2014 12:00 PM

1st show sold out already...they just added a 2nd show, same password and you can get great tickets

Posted by Anonymous | January 22, 2014 12:13 PM

"1st show sold out already"

you mean the PRESALE for the 1st show, right? Plenty of non-PRESALE seats to be sold.

Posted by Anonymous | January 22, 2014 12:15 PM

"you mean the PRESALE for the 1st show, right? Plenty of non-PRESALE seats to be sold."

Yeah, all two dozen of them.

Posted by Anonymous | January 22, 2014 12:21 PM

"Yeah, all two dozen of them"

because you know all things, oh Great Gazoo

Posted by Anonymous | January 22, 2014 12:27 PM

Hilpert is more or less a bonafide kw member. I wish Karl Bartos would tour the US though.

I think presales are a joke to pawn off "obstructed view" and crap seats to crazy veggielezzies

Posted by suckmeister | January 23, 2014 12:21 AM

third show goes on presale tomorrow morning at 10am, mercury lounge in person only. two tickets per person.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2014 12:34 AM

thanks for musik

Posted by Kingsley | February 26, 2014 6:24 AM

I am going to both shows. Love that crystal clear live digital sound

Posted by Eric | February 27, 2014 12:45 PM

It's better on vinyl

Posted by Anonymous | February 27, 2014 12:48 PM

This is going to suck soooooooo hard.

I was telling Sally about these guys, but she had never heard of them. Neither had anyone else in the room ( visiting with family). I was in shock."These guys were awesome," I assured them. And so,in case the rest of you missed out on the awesomeness of Kraftwerk, enjoy "The Robots"
