Emo-grunge band Manchester Orchestra are set to release their fourth album, Cope, on April 1 and have just revealed its riff-heavy lead single, "Top Notch," which you can stream below. They've also announced that they'll be heading out on an extensive spring tour of the US and Canada with another band who mixes emo and alt-rock, Balance and Composure, and Kevin Devine (who's in Bad Books with Manchester's Andy Hull). That tour brings all three bands to NYC on May 22 at Terminal 5. Tickets for the T5 show go on sale Friday (1/24) at noon with an AmEx presale starting Wednesday (1/22) at noon.

I don't see why "emo-grunge" is such a hard concept to wrap your heads around. You guys must be kinda dumb. Is it that its not "indie" enough for you super cool cats who don't live in your parents basements and dont anonymously comment on bv articles because it makes you feel slightly relevant?

If you don't realize the absurdity of the term emo-grunge, there's no hope for you.

Emo-grunge is a pretty accurate way to describe them. Can't think of a more accurate way, especially after listening to the new track. No point in ripping on a type of genre if you're a blogger on a music website
