Outside Rough Trade back in November (more by Dana [distortion] Yavin)
Rough Trade

After being closed since the second week of operations to fix sound / noise issues, Rough Trade's concert venue looked ready to reopen this week with shows from Sylvan Esso on Thursday (1/30) and Eagulls on Friday (1/31). (Ghost of a Sabre Tooth Tigre's 1/29 show was cancelled.) Unfortunately it looks like Rough Trade is still not quite ready for prime time.

Friday's Eagulls show has been moved to Baby's All Right. The show is now a late show -- doors at midnight -- and The Teen Age are no longer on the bill, but Slonk Donkerson are still opening. Tickets are still available. UPDATE: It'll just be Eagulls. Mark McGuire of Emeralds plays at 11 PM.

Man Man and Xenia Rubinos on Saturday (2/1) has been moved to Music Hall of Williamsburg. Tickets are Still available.

UPDATE: The Total Slacker / Perfect Pussy show on February 12 is now going to be at Baby's All Right. Life Sized Maps and Honduras are also on the bill and tickets appear to be sold-out back on sale.

As for the Sylvan Esso show on Thursday, no word yet but if the two shows after are moving...stay tuned.

UPDATE: The Sylvan Esso show was moved to Baby's All Right.

More updates: The Lanterns on the Lake show on 2/7 was also moved to Baby's All Right, the Mutual Benefit show on 2/8 was moved to Knitting Factory, and the together PANGEA show on 2/14 was also moved to Knitting Factory.

Once again, Rough Trade is the best thing to happen to Baby's Alright. Are they gonna be alright if RT ever reopens. Do I honestly give a shit or am I musing aloud to you shitheads? Eat it.

Thanks for the update on how to avoid seeing Total Slacker.

I really am pulling for Rough Trade to come though and, fingers crossed, get that collaboration with Beats to make a soundspace that allows for bands to play at full volume and you can't hear it on the outside to disturb neighbors. Billy kids need their sleep. It reminds me of the time I was riding on the Mayflower when I thought I spied some land. I yelled for Captain Arab, I have you understand, who came running to the deck, said, “Boys, forget the whale. Look on over yonder. Cut the engines. Change the sail. Haul on the bowline.” We sang that melody like all tough sailors do when they are far away at sea. I wonder if the singer from NMH can relate?

Can I get a refund? Seriously. I did not buy tix to a bloody midnight show.

Fuck Rough Trade. Just move all your shows to Baby's All Right. Permanently. That place is so much better then some sterile, overpriced record store.

Cancel all these shows. They're all garbage anyway.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! I would not have bought tickets if I knew this was going to be changed to a MIDNIGHT SHOW! I am DEMANDING a refund.

If they move the Courtney Barnett show to MHOW, will there be additional tickets released? I hope so. Snoozed & Loozed on that one.

Wow. Just wow. I'm literally crying now. This incredible lady has emerged and transformed into something just too amazing for words. Her voice is so clear and sharp again and her piano has gotten back to how it was in the early years. I think it's the glasses!
