Neil @ Carnegie Hall recently (more by Dana (distortion) Yavin)
Neil Young

It was widely reported last week that Neil and Jack were getting together, but Neil Young just posted the following to his Facebook. "False Rumours: Neil Young and Jack White are not doing a record of duets as has been erroneously posted on various outlets. We are certain those rumours have no basis in truth." Well, that's too bad!

HOWEVER, Jack White's label Third Man Records reports today that,

Third Man Records unearths NEIL YOUNG's A LETTER HOME

An unheard collection of rediscovered songs from the past recorded on ancient electro-mechanical technology captures and unleashes the essence of something that could have been gone forever. -- Homer Grosvenor

That's kind of vague, but Rolling Stone seems to confirm that "Neil Young's Low-Tech New Album 'A Letter Home' [is] Due in March"! Neil told Rolling Stone, "it's one of the lowest-tech experiences I've ever had."

Somewhere out there Graham Nash is singing "Our House" while barefoot.

I'm glad they are releasing an album of Duets. Neil doesn't need to do anything with Jack White.

What is with the vagueness here? This has been widely reported in a number of places.

The record consists of Neil recording old folk and blues tracks in the antique record recording booth that Jack has in the Third Man store.

Also, a few Neil insiders who have been privy to hearing it have already said that it is terrible unfortunately.

Because fuck you, that's why.

What is low-tech to Neil Young, a $30,000 recording budget?

^it's when he uses an old-timey wooden dildo on your mother instead of a technologically advanced plastic one.

Recorded on ancient electro-mechanical technology... and then dumped into a $100k Pro Tools HD computer rig.

C'mon, man. Peace and love. It's Neil we're talking about here.

Was anyone dumb enough to believe that rumour?

"Martin, let's be reasonable."

Thanx Neil, for not giving more credibility to that talentless hack White.

Long may you run Neil. For those who think his voice is bad.. In my opinion it fits the style of music.. He is with out doubt one of the top solo artists.. Plus he surely captured the times.. I have great memories sitting around camp fires drinking and getting high listening to his music..
