Om at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, 2013 (more by Greg Cristman)

Trippy groove gurus Om have announced their first Stateside gigs of 2014, including an NYC appearance at the Music Hall of Williamsburg on February 21. No supporting lineup has been announced, but tickets are on sale Friday (1/10) at noon with an AmEx presale starting Wednesday (1/8) at noon. The band are currently on tap for a short run of January/February festival dates in New Zealand; they'll return to the road for a short run of western US dates in April. All are listed below.

In the meantime, Om drummer Emil Amos's other band Grails will be embarking on a European tour in March. Those dates are below as well.

The MHoW looks to be a considerably more conventional Om appearance than their last NYC show, at which they performed "At Giza" (from Conference of the Birds) at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. You can watch a full fan-shot video of that set below, plus their current crop of announced dates (plus those Grails dates).

MoMA is a terrible venue for a band like OM. :(

Im sure being there would've balanced out the drums to bass but all i can hear on this video is the drums. I saw them live with Emile and he was great, Al and Emile work well together but I think we can all agree on the fact that OM wouldn't be OM without Al Cisernos. HE is OM. Just watch his performance. He treats his music, his creation like a meditation. Watching him live last week in LA made me fall even more in love with him and OM. Seeing them here among ancient Egyptian artifacts would've been an insanely awesome spiritual experience Im sure!´╗┐
