The Strokes at Bonnaroo 2011 (more by Dana (distortion) Yavin)
Strokes

The lineup for NYC music festival Governors Ball was just announced, and included a solo set from Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas, but it's now just been confirmed that The Strokes themselves will perform too! It will be The Strokes' first hometown show since playing MSG in 2011.

Tickets for the fest go on sale today (1/15) at 3 PM. Check out the full lineup.

Way to stick with the theme of irrelevancy, Gov Ball!

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:28 AM

This is easily the worst lineup of all the summer festivals. Embarrassing second tier shit all around.

Chrsitie just announced he is going to block the foot bridge to the venue as retaliation for Blur not showing up ;)

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

11:28-- relevancy? Define it. Go ahead, rattle off a bunch of bullshit hipster bands that about 200 people give a fuck about in New York City. You know what would happen then? 200 people would show up at this festival, and festivals tend to be in the money-making business, not in the hipster-credibility business. Get a clue, holmes. There's a reason the Acheron is so small: not that many people give a fuck about whoever's there. And if nobody gives a fuck, doesn't that mean it's irrelevant?

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:58 AM

Big Guava, Counterpoint, Hangout fest, Firefly, Governors ball.

I can't fucking keep up. Enough. It's all fucking stupid.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:59 AM

do you think one person in the crowd would know one song from that shitty last album they put out?

mass crickets

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 11:59 AM

11:27-- since you certainly don't have your own album to use as comparison, we'll go ahead and nullify your statement for you.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2014 12:00 PM

I thought they were gonna break up. Just do it already!

11:58: Just hang in there, bud. Don't listen to the BV haters. Gov Ball is going to fucking rule and you'll totally fit in if you rock your old J'ncos.

If you begin to use "ticket sales" as an argument, you already lost.

Comedown Machine was outrageously underrated. It is hilarious reading all the comments from the shit birds, though. Please commence sliding down a mountain of dicks.

Posted by Anonymous | January 16, 2014 10:37 AM

Comedown Machine was a quick, halfassed record label obligation record. Notice how they didn't even do the slightest bit of touring to support it? Not even the band cares about that album.

Posted by Anonymous | January 16, 2014 10:52 AM

^ This guy knows his stuff. It was just a quick album. I don't get why people are just being jerks when they don't know one bit about the albums background. Be smart and don't comment if you don't know.
