Lego-ized version of NMH's 'In the Aeroplane Over the Sea'
NMH

Browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight's shows. Here are some highlights...

Neutral Milk Hotel @ Loew's Jersey Theatre
After releasing one of the most classic indie albums of all time with In the Aeroplane Over the Sea, Neutral Milk Hotel pretty much disappeared with frontman Jeff Mangum choosing to remain mostly out of the public eye. A few years ago, Mangum began touring again, but it wasn't until late 2013 that Neutral Milk Hotel returned to the road. Their reunion tour finally comes to NYC and the surrounding area this month, with tonight's NJ show being the first, and five shows in NYC proper coming up soon.

Parquet Courts, Amanda X, Household @ Acheron
Fresh off their first-ever national network television debut, Parquet Courts limber up for dates on the West Coast and Australia/New Zealand with this show are teeny weeny Acheron. Sold out.

Not a whole lot going on tonight, but maybe it's a good night to check out something new/different like Steve Lehman at The Stone or Slavic Soul Party at Barbes.

For all of tonight's shows, and tomorrow's, check out our full NYC show calendar.

For laughs, check out the NYC Comedy calendar too.

Hands down this will be the night to see NMH...Bam is GA and the rest of the venues are questionable. JC show easy off the Journal Square path and nice theater...

I'm gonna write a love song to Cassie Ramone, and then the world will know.

Man, 2 shows? BV and other 'music' blogs really do not give a shit about music anymore. Your getting stale.

Agreed with the Loews being the best show. Guaranteed seats with an amazing venue - have fun at Webster Hall..

Nothing says "I'm a pussy" like a NMH ticket in your hand.

acheron set times?

Posted by Anonymous | January 14, 2014 9:57 AM

Yeah, seeing NMH in a seated theatre is wayyyy better than in a smaller, GA, standing venue. Keep tricking yourself into believing that, old man.

PC is OK but I really really don't get all the mania around them. Can someone explain to me why you love them so?

Posted by Anonymous | January 14, 2014 10:10 AM

Cassie Ramone was a vegan for 4 days

The Loew's Theater IS beautiful. But it's also in Jersey.
@10:08- BAM ain't exactly a smaller theater though. Only Webster would be real GA standing room. At least at BAM, the floor rises toward the back. You can't really see much at the back of Webster.

Can't wait to see BAM try to enforce NMH's no phone camera policy. They were strictly enforcing it at the smaller venues. Curious to see if they can do it at BAM. It was awesome to see NMH (or ANY show) without a bunch of people taking photos/tweeting the whole time. Felt like a time warp.

1105 where did you see them? baltimore?

Posted by Anonymous | January 14, 2014 11:07 AM

2 things:

First: any $60 sales of Parquet Courts tickets for tonight's show will not be honored. We do not allow transfer of will call tickets specifically for this reason. We support bands, not scalpers or parasites.

Second, the Acheron may not be Music Hall or Barclay's, but it's not about the size, it's how you use it.

"Fresh off their first-ever national network television debut..."

that's redundant, dude.

10:08 I have been to shows at both Webster Hall and Loew's before. I would take Loew's anyday

Posted by Anonymous | January 14, 2014 12:52 PM

^ me too..especially since I have 10th row seats tonight

Posted by Anonymous | January 14, 2014 1:05 PM

y'all can take assigned seats at the loews theatre in jersey - I think the win goes to the GA Capitol Theatre next week

Posted by Anonymous | January 14, 2014 1:19 PM

Capitol will be better then Webster to no doubt..Webster would be the last venue I would see NMH in out of all on the tristate area tour
