Warpaint @ MHOW, Oct. 2013 (more by Adela LaConte)

Browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight's shows. Here are some highlights...

Disclosure, Vic Mensa, Samo Sound Boy @ Terminal 5
In a year where Daft Punk made a huge comeback, Disclosure were still dance duo of 2013 thanks to a killer album jam-packed with hits that translate just as well to the dancefloor. Needless to say, these three nights at Terminal 5 will be a killer time.

Disclosure (DJ set), Breach, Alex English, rekLES @ Webster Hall
If you wanna keep the party going after the T5 show, head to Webster Hall where Disclosure (and others) will be DJing all night.

Warpaint @ Union Pool
It took Warpaint three years to follow up their 2010 debut, but it was well worth the wait. Their new self-titled album (stream it) is an excellent mix of dream pop and psychedelia with great atmospheres and great melodies. Their tour brings them to Webster Hall in March, but tonight they play the much more intimate Union Pool.

Dan Deacon, DJ Dog Dick, DUST, Ava Luna, TONSTARTSSBANDHT, Uumans, Special Guest @ 285 Kent
Brooklyn DIY venue 285 Kent is closing but it's going out in style with four great lineups, the final three of which are this weekend.

Bleeding Rainbow, Hound, Sleepies, Clean Girls @ Death by Audio
Philly's underrated Bleeding Rainbow have a great new album, Interrupt, out in February but we wouldn't be surprised if they were selling tonight.

Bomb the Music Industry!, The Slackers, Lemuria, Hop Along @ Warsaw
Bomb the Music Industry! are calling it quits, but not before playing two final shows, which happen tonight and Sunday at Warsaw (both sold out). They've got some pretty great support which is not to miss too, including passionate Philly rockers Hop Along, Buffalo punks Lemuria, and ska vets The Slackers.

Jessy Lanza, The-Drum @ Glasslands
Ontario singer/producer Jessy Lanza recently released her debut album on the trusty Hyperdub label (also home to Burial, Laurel Halo, etc), which fell somewhere between future R&B and the synthpop of Grimes. Tonight she plays her first of two NYC shows with Chicago production duo The-Drum.

Slick Rick, Aaron LaCrate @ Brooklyn Bowl
It'll be a night of golden-age hits when hip hop veteran Slick Rock takes over Brooklyn Bowl tonight.

Francis and the Lights @ Baby's All Right
Piano man and singer (and onetime Drake collaborator) Francis and the Lights plays his first NYC show in a while, on the heels of his late 2013 EP, Like a Dream. The show was originally scheduled for Rough Trade, and it's sold out.

Alejandro Escovedo @ City Winery
With his bands The Nuns and Rank and File, Alejandro Escovedo was one of the first to mix punk and country and since those days has kept on as one of the great rootsy singer-songwriters. Tonight's show is acoustic, with strings.

MNDR, AVAN LAVA (DJ), The Dolls, The Mast, Milan @ Brooklyn Night Bazaar
Brooklyn Night Bazaar offers weekends of local artisan shopping, gourmet eats, beer and wine, ping pong, black light minigolf and music all under one Greenpoint roof. Tonight's line-up is currated by Le Poisson Rouge and features dance duo MNDR and more.

Aretha Franklin @ Radio City Music Hall
They don't call Aretha Franklin the Queen of Soul for nothing, as she's blessed with some of the finest pipes ever to be heard. She's still got it.

Jeffrey Lewis, Nu Sonics @ Mercury Lounge
Jeffrey and his band the Jrams are celebrating the release of a new CD and his new issue of comic Fuff. Jeffrey's a NYC treasure and worth catching in any form.

Charles Bradley @ Bowery Ballroom
Having spent years as a James Brown tribute artist have bestowed Bradley with killer stage moves, and he's got the kind of weary, ragged voice that was just meant for soul. His band's killer too. Sold out, as is his MHOW show on Saturday.

Heaven's Gate, Ex-Wife, Florida, Radio Shock @ Silent Barn
Heaven's Gate's Transmuting was one of Brooklyn's finest indie rock record of 2013, mixing shoegazy elements with straight-ahead gut-punch rock.

The Shitty Pixies, Valley Lodge, Barefoot Walking @ The Rock Shop
The Pixies aren't playing NYC proper on their upcoming tour but you can hear their songs live in Gowanus tonight as performed by The Shitty Pixies. Plus Dave Hill's band Valley Lodge as well. Could be a fun night.

Juan Maclean, Jacques Greene, Kevin Graves @ Museum of Natural History
The One Step Beyond series returns to the American Museum of Natural History in 2014 for its seventh season of dance party fun. Tonight's the kickoff event.

Drenge, Cold Fronts @ Mercury Lounge
Falling somewhere between post-Nirvana grunge and early '00s garage revival, UK duo Drenge are adored by the British music press. Will NYC take to them as well?

A Disclosure show is great because you can hear black music without worrying if actual black people will show up and ruin it.

Articles that have shit on them that distract you so much like "DJ Dog Dick". Then again, I'm not surprised you'd be so distracted with something that sounds slimy enough to give you another disease.

I'm sure you really are LMAOing. More like struggling to come up with your next response :)
