Woodsman will release their self-titled third album on February 4 via their new home Fire Talk. The band make bold steps into mid fidelity on this one and it suits them well. It's rhythm-heavy in a Can/Neu! kind of way, still with their dark, droning textures swirling around. You can get a good idea of what Woodsman are doing here with the back-to-back album tracks "Healthy Life" and "Rune," both of which you can stream below.

The band launch a two-week tour tonight (1/24) in NYC at Mercury Lounge with Alan Watts and Herbcraft, the latter of whom will be with them for a few dates. It's a late show -- doors at 10 PM -- and tickets are available. The tour then wraps up on February 8 at Death by Audio which is their record release show. Shorts and White Bike are also playing. All dates are listed below.

Thanks Sarge for your sharing of invaluable skills and knowledge ! I continue to upgrade my own skill/knowledge of woodsmanship/bushcraft abilities and teach and share as well as encourage others to learn and advance themselves. My belief is that yes we should advance are knowledge in an ever advancing technology world but also have complete confidence in being able to live and thrive without any technology. To know that I can live and survive with nature (I aslo prefer lol) and having the skills and kit to be as successful and comfortable as possible is as I said absolutely invaluable. Some of my advancement has come directly from you and thank you very much for your choice to share with us all! Salute!
