What a (long) night! The Amnesty International show at Barclays Center wrapped up around 1am Wednesday night with a concert-ending performance by The Flaming Lips and Yoko Ono. Many more, including Lauryn Hill, Colbie Caillat (I think that's her crotch), Tegan & Sara, Cake, Bob Geldof, Madonna, Susan Sarandon, Blondie and of course Pussy Riot (who were on Colbert one night earlier) also took the stage at the home of the Brooklyn Nets. Those sitting too far away to see could watch what was going on on the big screens, though sometimes that content was a bit questionable. Did you go? What did you think? We'll have more on the whole shebang with pics later.

Meanwhile check out some video below...

The show was (almost !) longer than a Yankee game but totally worth it! It was a win win!

the pussy riot left them all with flaming lips

We were given tickets and went on a whim. Both of us found it incredibly pretentious and even worse, boring.

Posted by Anonymous | February 6, 2014 6:17 AM

The time between acts was excruciating. 5 minutes of silence, some horrible "dj", some random commercial, a random speaker, and then the next act. all the set changes took at least 20 minutes, just for the next band to play 3 songs. complete disappointment.

I went. It was poorly produced. There were long gaps between acts even though they had a rotating stage and could've had the speeches and (good) Amnesty ads going during the set changes. It ruined the energy. The first hour with Cold war Kids, Crotch lady and the Fray was a snooze. Madonna/P Riot went on way too long. Blondie, Cake, Dragons were good. Left at 11.

i'm sure there will be an overblown dvd of this shit

Posted by Anonymous | February 6, 2014 8:58 AM

No sympathy for those who went to this shit. You deserve what you got.

Terrible lame line up of mostly bands who could only fill Terminal 5 on a good night anchored by the overblown hype of the stupid Pussy Riot girls

By yesterday afternoon they were having trouble giving away these tickets.

Sadly a good cause that unfortunately had put together a weak event.

Was there also. Show was WAY too long. Should have started at 7:00 or 7:30 and the time between acts was too long. You can tell there were issues getting the bands set up even with a rotating stage. The videos would end and there would be about 10 minutes or more of time until the other act began. I left at 11:45 and still had not gotten to see Tegan and Sarah, Flaming Lips, Yoko. I wanted to stay but had to get back to the Bronx in time for work.

And let me say aomething about the Colbie Callait shorts shots. Whoeever was running that camera either had major technical issues or was super creepy because it happened about 3 times. Did not happen to any of the other bands.

Every band was good considering their allotted time. Imagine Dragons were great and so was Blondie.

Worthwhile cause, poor execution.

Perv cameraman loved Colbie Callait's short shorts as well as Deborah Harry's mid-drift.

Fun show but the pacing ruined it. (Blondie was great! Cake was fun. Imagine Dragons was RAD. Fray was hummus. Lauren Hill was a snoozefest). Sadly left before the Flaming Lips, but at 3 songs a band and a boring Bob Geldof hitting the stage at 12:30, they weren't worth waiting 30 minutes to see.

Posted by Anonymous | February 6, 2014 9:46 AM

that boom arm would've driven me bananas.

Posted by Anonymous | February 6, 2014 9:51 AM

"Imagine Dragons was RAD"

Barf.

Posted by Anonymous | February 6, 2014 9:53 AM

Pussy Riot are celebrities as much as Edward Snowden or The Kardashians are..

Posted by Anonymous | February 6, 2014 9:53 AM

I was there. Left around midnight. Missed Flaming Lips, Yoko Ono and Tegan & Sara because I had to get home at a reasonable hour for work. I was PRETTY disappointed in that. The execution of the show was just awful. The lag time between speeches/sets added a good 2 hours to the night. Bob Geldolf's chastising monologue didn't help the time situation either. I left in the middle of that.
PS: I know the Boomtown Rat's "I hate Monday's" you smug jerk.

When did cameltoe play?

Posted by Anonymous | February 6, 2014 9:58 AM

i could only imagine how insufferable the crowd was at this thing.

Posted by Anonymous | February 6, 2014 10:00 AM

any commando crotch shots?

Posted by Anonymous | February 6, 2014 10:01 AM

I don't see any cats around, but I do see a Yoko Ono. What's the correlation there, you think?

Posted by Anonymous | February 6, 2014 10:07 AM

Anyone that says dumbass shit like "Imagine Dragons was RAD" probably thinks Green Day is punk and that Obama is doing a pretty good job.

Posted by Anonymous | February 6, 2014 10:11 AM

Geldof...gimme a break. One song in the 80's and the waste of time circle-jerk that was referred to as Live Aid, better known as the biggest cocaine money laundering scheme of all time.

Posted by Anonymous | February 6, 2014 10:11 AM

Even Bono thought this shit was lame.

Posted by Anonymous | February 6, 2014 10:16 AM

Geldorf's only hit was actually in the 70s, 1979 to be exact.

Posted by Anonymous | February 6, 2014 10:21 AM

Who's bright idea was it to let Bob Geldof play 3 songs? What was left of the crowd just completely died. Imagine Dragons got the biggest response. Set changes were excruciating. Should have just had 3-4 acts (no one cared to see The Fray or crotch lady).

I was looking forward to reading the comments to this shit show. Seems like the shit show delivered the shit.

Posted by Anonymous | February 6, 2014 11:01 AM

lmao at people praising imagine dragons, who are maybe the worst band making music today. kill yourselves.

Posted by Anonymous | February 6, 2014 11:09 AM

So did anyone actually make it to the end of the show? Anyone actually get to see the lips and yoko?

Posted by Anonymous | February 6, 2014 11:32 AM

I wouldn't have been able to stay in that building for 10 minutes. Not so much because of the music as much as the stifling smell of farts emanating from the crowd/stage.

Posted by Anonymous | February 6, 2014 11:37 AM

did Atlantic Terminal run late trains, or were Long Islanders just not expected to stay through the whole thing, or go at all?

Should have been treated like an indoor festival, done on a weekend, like the crotch shot

Posted by Anonymous | February 6, 2014 4:21 PM

Is it just me, or did The Flaming Lips seem like some sort of Lips cover band? I'm used to seeing Wayne Coyne getting the crowd excited and put in some hopeful words... not the "we're so excited to be the headliners" and "fuck yeah, Brooklyn" shit. I'm pretty sure the Lips weren't even there last night. Just a ploy to get people to come despite the rest of the crap line-up.

Posted by Anonymous | February 6, 2014 6:27 PM

I thought the Flaming Lips have been a Flaming Lips cover band for about the past 10 years.
