Following last year’s Emancipated Hearts mini-LP, Dean Wareham will release his first-ever proper solo album on March 11. The self-titled album was produced by Jim James of My Morning Jacket, and recorded at Jim’s place in Louisville, Kentucky with Britta Phillips on bass, Anthony LaMarca on drums and pedal steel, and Jim James on keys and guitars. Check out “Holding Pattern” below.

Starting with a visit to the Big Ears Festival in Knoxville, TN, Dean will be on tour this spring playing songs off his new LP plus favorites from throughout the rest of his long career (Luna, Galaxie 500, Dean & Britta). Those dates include NYC at Bowery Ballroom on April 5. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday (2/7) at noon with an AmEx presale beginning Wednesday (2/5) at noon. All dates are listed below.
