We mentioned that UK band Fat White Family would be crossing the Atlantic to leave their stink on Austin during SXSW, including the BV Day party at Red 7 on March 15 with Connan Mockasin and The Pains of Being Pure at Heart. (Full line-up announced soon!) After Austin, the band will be invading NYC, playing Pianos on March 21 with Israeli shoegazers Vaadat Charigim and more; and Union Pool on March 22 with Flame Proof Moth. Tickets to both Pianos and Union Pool are on sale now. The band are currently raising money for these US shows if you’d like to contribute (they met their goal).

If you haven’t delved into the lurid world of the Fat Whites, they occupy similar seedy territory as Birthday Party, The Fall or Clinic or Beggars Banquet-era Stones: moody garage rock with lyrical tales straight out of an Irvine Welsh novel. (Sample song titles from their debut album Champagne Holocaust: “Is It Raining In Your Mouth?” and “Cream of the Young.”) If you like to mire in the filth occasionally, Fat White Family will meet you at the bottom.

The band have a new single, “Touch the Leather,” due out March 10 via Hate Hate Hate that you can stream below. The music video for it — which is NSFW in a naked bottom kind of way —  and a few other videos are below too.
