LCD Soundsystem's three-and-a-half-hour final show which happened at MSG back in 2011 is coming out as a five-LP box set for Record Store Day 2014. Titled The Long Goodbye: Live at Madison Square Garden, it will also get a digital and wider vinyl release on May 20.

The show was also the basis for concert film Shut Up and Play the Hits and you can watch "Losing My Edge" from that, and check out the box set art and tracklist, below.

YEAH! He said in an interview last year this was recorded to and mixed to tape. This is not the same source/mix as the movie.

Posted by Anonymous | February 27, 2014 2:22 PM

Do we really need FIVE discs of this?!?

(And what "hits" is he referring to?)

Posted by Anonymous | February 27, 2014 2:23 PM

There's entrepreur's, then there is this guy.

He needs a hobby, one that pays.

Posted by Anonymous | February 27, 2014 2:24 PM

I recently watched the documentary on the last show (free on Netflix or Amazon Prime, I forget) and it simply was not good. Boring and over indulgent.

Posted by Anonymous | February 27, 2014 2:30 PM

Well, at least the title is accurate...it certainly has been long.

Posted by Anonymous | February 27, 2014 2:30 PM

all you people ranting now are the same who were crying when you got shut out buying tix for MSG and T5 shows. sad

Posted by Anonymous | February 27, 2014 2:31 PM

Let's be real here: there's no way that Murphy won't do an LCD reunion eventually.

It's been a few years since this show, but it's still being released in different forms.

Posted by Anonymous | February 27, 2014 2:32 PM

Probably will try to get a copy for the GF, but I fail to see what the difference is b/t the RSD release and the later vinyl edition?

Posted by Anonymous | February 27, 2014 2:34 PM

^ GF?!?!?! LOLOLOL - that has got to be the funniest comment of the day. Holy shit!

Posted by Anonymous | February 27, 2014 2:45 PM

2:45: zzzzziiiiing!

Posted by Anonymous | February 27, 2014 2:53 PM

2:34's "GF"s name is also "Righty". Righty won't be able to tell the difference between the versions either.

Posted by Anonymous | February 27, 2014 3:04 PM

My Bitches, what is UP?! Only 23 comments on an LCD post?! Le sigh ...

Posted by Anonymous | February 27, 2014 3:33 PM

"Probably will try to get a copy for the GF, but I fail to see what the difference is b/t the RSD release and the later vinyl edition?"

frohawk will pay at least $500 for the rsd release.

usually with LP releases they have free digital downloads with the purchase and then someone will put it on thepiratebay and I can get it for free

Posted by Anonymous | February 27, 2014 3:49 PM

Is this worth getting if you downloaded all of these tracks in the 2 weeks after the show when they were posted online?

Posted by Anonymous | February 27, 2014 4:00 PM

Posted by hipster flintoff | February 28, 2014 12:28 PM

It was a great concert but ya kinda had to be there. The vibe does not translate to vinyl, digital or whatever other ways he's trying to sell it.

Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2014 1:04 PM

gross

Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2014 4:13 PM

733- it's a music blog. You read it and you are then exposed to other music. this site mentioned LCD when they were barely a year old. What's your point?

Posted by Anonymous | March 1, 2014 2:47 AM
