Via True to You, Morrissey has announced two big shows on either coast: May 10 at Los Angeles Sports Arena and June 21 at Brooklyn's Barclay's Center. Both shows are with Kristeen Young, and each get a UK pop legend as an opener: LA gets Tom Jones and Barclays gets Cliff Richard (!). Advance tickets are not on sale yet. Stay tuned.

UPDATE: full tour announced.

Morrissey is currently working on his first solo album for new label home Harvest Records. FACT reports that the entire Smiths catalog is being remastered specifically for iTunes.

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2014 9:41 AM

Excuse me all you retards but Cliff Richard has been one of the biggest selling music artists in the last 50 years. Europe Australia Middle East Asia. This guy is the real deal you should know your facts about him before you bitch on about him. Don't go but his fans will pack the house out. It will be one hell of a night

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2014 9:49 AM

Will 7:53 be the BV comment fail of the day? He's set the bar pretty high.

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2014 9:54 AM

^^^Cliff Richard is a right wing Thatcher loving self loathing homo and a born again Christian....total no talent cunt

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2014 9:58 AM

^ dumb as fuck right there

and who in Brooklyn or even NYC even invokes the name of Maggie Thatcher in 2014? No one. 9:58 is a smelly snaggle tooth slimey Limey. Go back to your fucking shithole, Wentworth ... what what?

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2014 10:08 AM

wow, so much butthurt over 7:53. that usually means it hit the target square on. ZING!

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2014 10:09 AM

9:58 seems pretty angry

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2014 10:18 AM

10:09 - you're looking for runner-up on dumb comment of the day. The Young Ones has been referenced several times in this thread (see Rick's comment of "People's Poet" much earlier. Don't assume everyone is as ignorant as you... And find a dvd of The Young Ones! Best tv show of all time.

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2014 10:25 AM

Is it snowing out?

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2014 10:27 AM

10:09 is 7:53, wishing someone would back him up on that young ones gaffe

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2014 10:34 AM

10:34 is dumber than a bag of rocks. I am 10:09, and I can assure you that I wasn't even awake at 7:53. So maybe you need to relax and go take a walk in the snow? That way you won't be so angry, and stressed out.

Try to have a nice rest of the day buddy.

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2014 10:43 AM

David Hasselhoff should be opening

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2014 10:43 AM

^ DON'T HASSLE THE HOFF!

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2014 10:44 AM

You can hassle my hoff!! (Sorry, that's all I got. It's early)

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2014 10:47 AM

Nobody is gonna mention that we got ripped out of a Tom Jones performance here?

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2014 12:06 PM

I love Morrissey but not in a monstrous venue like this. A Foo Fighter he is not.

Posted by Master Wicked | February 13, 2014 12:34 PM

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2014 2:04 PM

Ticketmaster is going to make a fortune on the non refundable ass rape fees they charge on the Moz when he cancels.

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2014 3:36 PM

Wait, none of you douchebags are going? Well then I am!

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2014 4:26 PM

Now, now everyone settle down. Let's stop competing for douchiest "witty" hipster of the thread, you all win.

Posted by Anonymous | February 18, 2014 6:55 PM

Barclays must be cheaper to book than the Garden bc the last time Moz tried playing MSG, he sold around 8 or 9000 tickets and his popularity hasn't increased in the time since. A lot of bigger fringe but not quite mainstream acts like The National, MGMT, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Vampire Weekend,QOTSA, and Phoenix have all played here so it has to be cheaper to book or else why bother playing to a half filled arena and lose money. Let's hope there's not another cancellation.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2014 1:12 PM

Why the hell does he have to have that tiresome old thing opening for him? I'm referring, of course, to Kristeen Young.

Posted by Anonymous | March 17, 2014 7:27 PM

I know Morrisey is popular and a great act big but I am not really a fan. I am blown away...CLIFF RICHARD...been waiting 30 years for Cliff to play in America! He is the British Elvis. Loved his 70s hits and movies..Devil Woman...We Don't Talk Any More..Dreaming...Suddenly.. etc. My daughter and I will buy tickets for Brooklyn. I am sure we will leave before Morrisey goes on. I AM AMAZED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
