Sebadoh

Indie rock vets Sebadoh just wrapped up their February tour with two shows here in NYC, playing Mercury Lounge on Monday (2/24) and Baby's All Right on Tuesday (2/25). We caught the sold-out Mercury Lounge show and pictures and setlist are in this post.

Opening on this tour was San Diego's Octagrape, the current band from onetime Souljunk and Truman's Water dude Glen Galloway who plays his guitar wild and strapless. Octagrape's superior, sludgy garage rock comes with just a smidge of psych bombast -- you can stream their Red UFO album, along with pics from their opening set at Mercury Lounge, below...

More proof of just how disgusting you loser scarves let your abominable facial hair coupled with man-sweat let all out.

One woman giving psquared the evil eye in that crowd shot. He must have elbowed her walking by.

Far out, no cell phones in that crowd! Haven't seen an audience shot like that in ages. Does look like one cracker up front is texting though.

P squared accidentally knocked all of the cell phones out of people's hand while bumping into them.

Lou Barlow has a magnificent wig.

no eric - don't care

Octagrape/Glen Galloway rocked. It's too bad there is no picture of Lou Barlow tuning his guitar, because that's what about 15% of the evening was. He admitted on stage early on that he had no "mojo", and then proceeded to demonstrate what he meant by that, putting up a set that looks good great on paper, but was otherwise the musical equivalent of sex when the guy is too drunk. Felt great for moments, but not enough rhythm for anyone to get off. I felt bad for Jason and Bob, who gave it their all.
