St Vincent

St. Vincent is set to release her much-anticipated self-titled album next week (2/25) via Loma Vista, but you can now listen to it in full ahead of its release date. It's streaming below (via The Guardian), or you can listen at NPR. It's got the arty eccentricities we've come to expect from St. Vincent, but it's also some of her most accessible stuff to date. Check it out.

As discussed, her tour hits NYC on February 26 at Terminal 5 (sold out), but two days before that she'll be doing an album signing at Rough Trade NYC (2/24). Head to that store starting at noon Friday (2/21) to get a wristband and then return Monday (2/24) to purchase the album and have it signed. The signing starts at 9 PM and space is limited.

Listen to St. Vincent below...

I wish I could say I cared about her music. But I don't.

85% of these tracks are 3:15-3:30 in length. Mildly interesting? Inconsequential oversight? A clear indication of weak songwriting and artistic vision? You be the judge.

Is the white hair an artistic dye job or did she go prematurely grey?

Love a lot of music but I'm not the type for this dissonance. Do love her voice, just not the way she wraps it around her beats.

She can sure sing and play some mean guitar but damn, her songs suck so fucking bad.

Early vote for album of the year. Easily the most talented & interesting woman playing pop/rock music today. Not really much competition out there these days though.

Go back to being a brunette, don't overdo it with the makeup, keep wearing heels and those black leather hotpants (you know the ones I'm talking about), give us a smile every now and then, stop hanging around David Byrne and write some better tunes. Then maybe I'll like you, Annie.

9:12 I don't think she is aiming to please morons like you! Her new album and tour are actually quite good.
