While Seattle band Tacocat have been a bit upstaged by offshoot group Childbirth, the quartet are not only still kicking but will release new album NVM on February 25. The record is part '90s indie rock attitude, part surfy twang, with a little bubblegum to make your cup runneth over. You can check out the video for "Crimson Wave" and stream another song, below.

Tacocat kick off their North American tour this weekend with a string of hometown shows. Then they'll leave the Pacific Northwest for SXSW and then make their way East. NYC gets two shows: Death by Audio on March 29 and Hunter College on March 31. It's a pretty extensive tour, chances are they're playing somewhere near you, and they were a lot of fun the last time they swung through NYC. All dates are listed below...
