5 Questions with: The Front Bottoms

Front Bottoms

The Front Bottoms last released Talon of the Hawk in 2013. This coming week, they’ll come to Austin for SXSW where one of their shows is the official BrooklynVegan showcase on Wednesday night after playing the Run For Cover/Brixton Agency day party the same day (flyers below).

TFB have also shared a cover of “Burn Harvard Burn” by Bar/None president Glenn Morrow (The Individuals, a) which will appear on the soundtrack of upcoming film HairBrained. Listen below.

Meanwhile, we cornered the band and asked them 5 QUESTIONS:

1) What is your favorite venue to play in the country and why?

FB: One of our favorite venues to play in the states is Firehouse Pizza in Normal, IL. The main reason is because Zak is a god of a man. He knows how to take care of a band and is super generous.

2) Tell us about the worst show you’ve ever played.

One time, Brian and I booked ourselves a show in some hookah bar in trenton NJ… We showed up and it was a super dark room with a giant dance party going on. Then the DJ cut the music and was like and now The Front Bottoms then they pushed us out into the center of the dance floor and made us play.

3) What are some albums that you guys have been spinning in the van lately?

Black Panties – R. Kelly
Cope – Manchester Orchestra
Rented World – The Menzingers

4) What would your metal band name be?

Nein Eleven.

5) Be honest: how often do you change your clothes on tour?

Not very much.
