Bad news Allman Brothers Band fans. The group have had to postpone the remainder of the Beacon Theatre run due to Gregg Allman recovering from bronchitis. Postponed dates include shows on Tuesday (3/25), Wednesday (3/26), Friday (3/28) and Saturday (3/29). New dates have not been announced yet. Says representatives of the band:

All ticketholders should retain their tickets, which will be honored for the soon-to-be-announced rescheduled engagements. Those ticket holders desiring refunds may obtain them from the original point of purchase.
Feel better, Gregg!

*Postpone. The word you're looking for is "postpone". It's like a temporary cancel.

Agree with the first commenter-- article really should say postpone, not cancel, especially in the headline. Someone skimming through headlines or just reading the first sentence would get the impression that the band's shows at the Beacon were finished.

Well, that was quick. Thanks for making the change.

This is bad. He missed two shows in a row over the weekend. Has never happened in the history of the band. Saw them two weeks ago and he sounded just fine, but he has sounded rough in recent times also. All the more reason they need to hang it up at the end of the year when Derek and Warren leave.

These makeup shows won't happen at beacon. Too complicated. Probably one general admission at an affiliated venue. Have fun at the msg theater or Hammerstein crapholes.

I went Saturday night. While it was a bummer not having Gregg in the house, the show that was put on was at times incendiary. I must have seen them a few dozen times over the years, and this year they have just sounded inspired, like they were refusing to go out with a whimper. In particular the guitar play between Warren and Derek has been telepathic and at times downright pretty. Gonna miss these Beacon runs.

Ticket prices have become offensively and prohibitively high for these shows

Posted by Anonymous | March 24, 2014 10:49 PM

Though I'm not really a fan of the Allman's...10:10 PM's review of the show should be noted by the many vacant losers that troll this site on how to enjoy live music.

1049 prohibitively high? Maybe for you. They all sold out right after they went on sale.

802 He missed two shows in a row over the weekend. Has never happened in the history of the band? It happened 2 years ago when Greg bowed out right before showtime. I was there and thought it was absurd that they still played. The ABB with no Allman on stage? At least this past weekend they knew and had some guests. They still should have postponed those shows.
