Christo Buffam

Christo Buffam, the NYC musician of Dead Leaf Echo, The Vandelles and others, sadly passed away last week, and in his honor his family hosting a memorial event tonight (3/31) at 8 PM at Cheap Storage in Brooklyn (49 Wyckoff Ave). Here's the details and a message from Ian Buffam:

There will be some low key live performances, and friends spinning music we know he would've liked. Anyone who wants to perform a song for Christo or spin a song or two should get in touch with Jasno Swarez on facebook and he will pass the info along to Skyler and Ian. We will also be displaying Christo's art at the event, anyone with anything of his they'd like to display should reach out as well.

This is Ian's message,

"On behalf of the Buffam family we want to thank you all for sharing your thoughts and memories of Christo. It is great to know that he touched so many of you in great ways, and will always be remembered with a smile. We are going to be gathering to remember Christo's life tomorrow evening at 8:00pm at Cheap Storage on 49 Wyckoff Avenue in Brooklyn. Music will be played and his artwork displayed. Bring a drink that you know Christo would approve of." - Ian Buffam

More at the Facebook event.

There will also be a Buffam tribute as part of the Pianos on April 19 show where Buffam-related bands Dead Leaf Echo and The Vandelles are both performing and opening for David J (tickets).
