Cut Copy @ Terminal 5 - 3/21/14

Whether it be jumping up and down, waving your hands in the air, undulating your hips back and forth, or singing along, a Cut Copy show is a fully engaging experience for everyone involved. I'm not going to lie, during "In Memory Capsule," I closed my eyes and felt like I was at a Culture Club concert back in the 80's; and it felt so good, and not something that I would have admitted to myself in the early-mid 90's, as I was going through my grunge stage. As my musical tastes have matured with age, along with the gray hairs in my beard, it doesn't seem as if survival would be possible without music such as this. [Live for Live Music]
Australia's Cut Copy just brought their tour to NYC this past weekend to headline two sold-out Terminal 5 shows (3/21 & 3/22), and then DJ the new dance club Verboten the next night. The shows were in support of the band's newest album, Free Your Mind, and included about half of that, but was really split up between their last three records pretty evenly. Pictures of the first night are in this post.

Hyperdub-signed singer/producer Jessy Lanza opened both T5 shows, but unfortunately we missed her (we did catch her at SXSW though). She'll be back in NYC when her newly-announced tour hits Santos on 5/4 (tix).

I guess Cut Copy is the new Rapture.

how was the crowd here? I caught em in dc the night before and kids in the front row were consistently dabblin' with their phones barely even moving. im almost over live shows.

I will free myself of ever going back to T5.

T5 is the worst. I was standing in the sweet spot and it still sounded like ass. Plus everyone there is from Long Island.

Never again.

that third pic from the top of the post makes me shudder. an excellent visual of how fucking terrible T5's layout is. ucch.

Napalm Death is totally in the front row for the wrong show. http://www.brooklynvegan.com/img/bv/cutcopy/terminal5/23.jpg

With all of you herbs talking nonsense about never going back to T5 I'm expecting to start seeing smaller and smaller crowd shots from these T5 shows .... but you know that won't happen because you are all talk no action.
