Devo at Punk Rock Bowling 2013 (more by Keith Marlowe)
Devo

New wave/art punk legends Devo lost guitarist Bob Casale who sadly passed away this past February (only months after former drummer Alan Myers passed away), and in his honor they'll be going on a North American tour this year playing music from their early, experimental period of 1974-'77. That tour hits NYC on June 19 at Best Buy Theater. Tickets go on sale soon via Ticketmaster. All dates are listed below.

Devo also have some releases planned for Record Store Day, including Live at Max's Kansas City (recorded in 1977), a 7" for "Gates of Steel" with The Flaming Lips' cover of the song plus the original, and a vinyl picture disc of their 1996 "return" show.

Watch the video of The Flaming Lips' "Gates of Steel" cover, with some classic Devo material and the list of dates, below...

Best Buy Theatre is kind of a big place for them considering this isn't a hits tour, no? Last show was Irving Plaza and that was with a career-spanning set.

How is Conan going to handle doing his nightly show and touring with Devo? Sounds logistically tricky.

It's a shame they didn't do this when Bob was still alive. He was a big part of those early live gigs. Looking forward to this gig but for me it's a farewell show.
