Flaming Lips in San Francisco in 2013 (more by Chris Tuite)
Flaming Lips

Big Beatles fans The Flaming Lips will be taking their love for that band even further when they release a full cover album of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, as The Future Heart points out. It follows the band's full-album covers of Pink Floyd, King Crimson, and The Stone Roses, and includes some big name guests including Miley Cyrus, MGMT, Tame Impala, Foxygen, Zorch and others. No release date, but stay tuned.

Meanwhile, Wayne Coyne of Steven Drozd of the Lips joined Miley at her Tulsa show this past week (like they did in LA last month) to perform "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots (Part 1)." You can watch a video of that below...

I miss when this band made good albums and weren't essentially a huge gimmick.

I'm curious how this band still has a single fan left

Unbearable

What a silly band.

This dude/band would do anything to be remembered. Happens when you've been told you're a nerd your whole life.

This band is now so bad that it's impossible to even listen to their good albums.

The band that has been destroying their legacy since 1999.

Hold up let me call you a WAAAAAAAAAHmbulence, summa you folk need a nice bankey and milk and cookies to make you fewl bettew.

Fucking aye, these guys are still fun, just because you took them so seriously once does not mean that they changed. If you took them at face value from day one you would still be having fun at the shows, like me.

I think you mean a priest-driven Whambulance.

Close thread, good night.

Can Wanye Coyne call himself a singer, when he literally has ZERO voice left?

Posted by Anonymous | March 17, 2014 12:43 PM

you should look up the definition of "literally"

Stack Town, yo.

Posted by Anonymous | March 17, 2014 1:42 PM

wayne's voice is shot...that and his well beyond mid life crisis is absurd...then you've got a junky songwriter/guitarist who used to be nasty at the drums & a "yes man" bassist that pretty much doesn't even appear on the recordings anymore...

yes kids, the lips have officially lost it.
