Get Involved

Get Involved, the new-ish NYC post-hardcore band that features members of Thursday, Glassjaw and others, put out their debut EP, Silk Cuts, earlier this month. It was produced by Ross Robinson (Glassjaw, At the Drive-In, Blood Brothers) who's proven he's got a bit of knack for this kind of thing. One of its tracks, "Let Your Guard Down," was just given video treatment, featuring blurred clips of the band performing in a room. That video makes its premiere in this post and can be watched below.

Dude sounds like he's trying to be Danzig or the guy from AFI but the music is anything but post-hardcore.

The best part of the video was the laundromat. That shit was real and awesome! This has to be a frontrunner for a 2014 VMA, right?

Pretty sure Ben from the Men is not going to bestow this with his rarified punk designation, but I'll wait just to be sure.

Posted by Anonymous | March 21, 2014 10:55 AM

This blows! Not meant in a bad way but this isn't anyone top significant from either band.

Posted by Anonymous | March 21, 2014 12:03 PM

I'm only one person in the world, but I have to say that I don't like the music that these fellows have made. I also disagree with their clothing and hairstyle choices. I don't dislike them as people, but I have listened to the song, watched the video, and came to the conclusion that I'm not interested in hearing and seeing anymore or in watching their live shows. But thanks for adding to the greater creative collective consciousness.

Posted by Anonymous | March 23, 2014 6:22 PM

The song is better than the video.

Dear Emma from Public City PR - Going on comments sections to create fake comments of people liking this band (or any band you do PR for) is very transparent.

This shit is super lame, I hope it wasn't your idea to dress them up in those leather jackets.
