This lineup is disgusting... music is the worst its been since the late 80s

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 8:29 AM

This might be the worst one yet

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 8:31 AM

The cat at the bottom is using this lineup as a litterbox

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 8:32 AM

OK It's official...I'm old.

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 8:39 AM

WOW!! THIS IS TERRIBLE!

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 8:40 AM

Yeah, this is real bad.

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 8:41 AM

It's bad but there's a huge number of people out there who think this lineup actually looks good in all of its genericness.

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 8:45 AM

snooze fest 2014

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 8:55 AM

no Grimes?

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 8:56 AM

Wow... this is embarrassing. Music really has gotten awful.

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 8:57 AM

Trombone Shorty

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 9:00 AM

Portugal The Man, Foster the People, Cage the Elephant, Young the Giant, Chance the Rapper, Run the Jewels, Kings the Leon.

This is a disturbing new trend.

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 9:00 AM

Only topped by Woodstock '99

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 9:01 AM

there's still tons of great music out there right now - but the people that book this festival are just phoning it in. what a boring lineup.

at least Pitchfork went out of their way to get bands that aren't touring the whole country, like Slowdive.

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 9:02 AM

they better make sure fire extinguishers are readily accessible: blood orange is on the bill.

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 9:05 AM

I'm foreign and I can't play an actual instrument. Can I get on the top of this list?

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 9:06 AM

at least that Airborne Toxic Event/RIch Homie Quan collab I've been dreaming about finally has a chance at happening.

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 9:06 AM

The only thing that could have made this worse is Phish.

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 9:07 AM

I feel really bad for the PR team hired to promote this as "Lollapalooza's strongest lineup yet."

And did anyone notice Interpol buried in there? Didn't they headline a few years ago?

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 9:10 AM

Wow, this is some mainstream Z100 bullshit.

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 9:14 AM

I hope Interpol play at least a few classic cuts from "Everybody On My DIck Like They Supposed to Be."

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 9:30 AM

No Speedy Ortiz = FAIL

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 9:38 AM

the only thing worse than this lineup are the predictable "this lineup sucks" comments

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 9:41 AM

9:01 Honestly, Limp Bizkit, Rage, and Metallica all in one night would blow any night of this away.

Long Live WOODSTOCK 99

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 10:03 AM

Let's be honest, this lineup has HUGE names on it and will do just fine.

And the poor line-ups aren't Lolla's problem, it's just the way that festivals are shaking up this summer.

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 10:29 AM

Yes, this makes Woodstock 99 look good. Congrats Lollapalooza!

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 10:32 AM

"Wow, this is some mainstream Z100 bullshit."

Oh come on, there are maybe 4-5 bands on that list that have had any sort of crossover hit. You're not even trying.

That being said, there are no exclusives or motivations to travel for this:

KOL - just played MSG, likely on tour again this summer

Outkast - Gov Ball

Eminem - MetLife Stadium

Arctic Monkeys - played WH and MSG

Skrillex - who cares (playing Gov Ball anyways)

Calvin Harris - diahrrea music

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 10:39 AM

Yeah at least at Woodstock you got P-funk, James Brown, Costello and free shit the last night from all the raided merch stands.

Fun times.

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 10:42 AM

Who still listens to Eminem/Kings of Leon in 2014?!!

No Replacements equals I could care two shits. Only band I want to see.

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 10:42 AM

Hahahahahahaha. Hohohohohohoho. Heeheeheehee. Haha

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 10:43 AM

Why do festivals insist on booking MTV crap from the mid-2000s?

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 11:03 AM

I wouldn't go to this if it were free right here in NYC. The popular music scene continues it's downward spiral.

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 11:06 AM

You're better off going to Governor's ball for one or all days. Everything impressive is either playing a solo show or Gov Ball.

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 11:07 AM

Gov ball lineup>lolla lineup

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 11:18 AM

Really Gov Ball lineup is the defense of this lineup? That is pretty sad.

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 11:24 AM

Good god that is a horrible line-up. All the US festivals this year are total shitfests. Primavera has a killer line-up, so I know its not "music" itself that is the problem.

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 11:34 AM

With all these "______ the ______" names, it would have been a good year for Lolla to throw down $$$ to reunite Pedro the Lion.

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 11:44 AM

this is literally worse than a can of smashed assholes

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 11:44 AM

So So Glos!

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 12:12 PM

I can count about 10 acts I'd like to see if I was not horrified by the prospect of an outdoor festival. At my age, that's a lot.

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 12:26 PM

Man this line-up blows. You'd have to pay me to attend. The music scene is pretty sorry these days.

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 12:27 PM

Isnt this every festival lineup at this point? Very predictable, which isn't to say there aren't great artists among it.

I will say Glen Hansard is the best thing going here, and he doesn't play the same festival circuit every year.

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 12:30 PM

How does the presale work????

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 3:04 PM

I'll bet a CityFest. Who is NYC's fussiest? I'll find out then.

Posted by CITYFEST 2014 FAN | March 26, 2014 4:21 PM

Massive disappointment. Easily the worst Lolla lineup so far.

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 5:12 PM

910, I noticed interpol in there, no carlos d no respect i guess, i actually went to 2007 and they played but i didnt think they headlined - looked it up, they headlined the second stage and muse headlined the main stage

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 5:44 PM

horrible lineup, full blown ebola is way better than this thing called lineup

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 7:59 PM

Worst festival ever. I am surprised Paris Hilton and that butthole from Jersey Shore aren't on the bill.

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 8:51 PM

wow.
Did the curators of the Whitney Biennial handle this one?

Joke line-up?

That is what the poster looked like to me on first glance.

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 11:00 PM

LoL'ing4losers.

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2014 11:00 PM

I am truly disappointed. How could this lineup be this awful? I just don’t get their logic of putting it together Eminem opposite Arctic Monkeys? Outkast opposite Calvin Harris (I still don’t know who Calvin Harris is) Kings of Leon and Avett Brothers on the same day…why not space that out? And Lorde??? WTF….Check my blog to see my review of the lineup along with other music festival, concert and music reviews at: http://wevebeentherebefore.blogspot.com/

Posted by We've Been There Before | March 27, 2014 12:28 AM

Henry Rollins > perry farrell
he shits on 'skrillex' and 'lorde' and dumb crap like this. He doesn't book it and sell it as the greatest thing ever. Anyone actually hear run the jewels I bet they're ok

Posted by Anonymous | March 27, 2014 8:47 AM

every festival is the same same same same same same same same same same same same same same same same lame names

Posted by Anonymous | March 27, 2014 5:05 PM

8/47 here that May have been kinda harsh. I'm not a hater. Lorde sings good I'm sure. I never heard royals or anything else yet. Prob never will. The other guy can cut records prob (only hear tiny bit) but not his hair apparently. That's all

Posted by Anonymous | March 27, 2014 9:56 PM

Sad...just sad.
