By Doug Moore
You may recall that the influential British proto-thrash metal band Satan achieved a rare feat for bands of their sort last year: they released a comeback album, Life Sentence, that received nearly universal critical acclaim. This accomplishment is especially noteworthy because of the timespans involved. Satan formed way back in 1980, and Life Sentence was the band's first studio effort in 25 years.
The album has evidently done well enough to justify Satan's first-ever trip to North America. The band will play a run of eastern-NA dates during April, beginning with an NYC appearance at Brooklyn's Black Bear Bar (formerly the back room at Public Assembly) on 4/11. Locals Natur & Sacrificial Blood will provide support. Tickets are on sale now.
