You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Broken Bells, Au Revoir Simone @ Webster Hall
Broken Bell put out the funky followup to their 2010 self-titled debut, After the Disco, earlier this year, and tonight they play their first proper NYC show since its release (not counting the 3-song Brooklyn show in they played in January). If you’re going, it’s worth catching Au Revoir Simone too.

Screaming Females, Tuff Tits, Todd Congelliere @ Silent Barn
This is one of two intimate NYC shows for the shredding punk trio Screaming Females happening this month. This one’s in celebration of Shellshag’s birthday, and also features Toys That Kill’s Todd Congelliere, who has a new solo album. Todd and Tuff Tits team up again at DbA on Sunday too.

Tei Shi, Heavenly Beat, Atlanter @ Glasslands
Tonight’s show was supposed to be headlined by Sweden’s The Mary Onettes who postponed due to visa issues. Luckily, Heavenly Beat sound like they’re Swedish, so the vibe remains the same. Headlining is Canadian ex-pat Tei Shi whose music falls roughly into the future R&B niche.

Dam-Funk, Maya Vik, Gordon Voidwell, DJ Thanksgiving Brown @ Brooklyn Night Bazaar
Dam-Funk will fill the Brooklyn Night Bazaar with his funk/hip hop tonight. Like all BKNB shows, it’s free to get in and there’s also not-free food, drinks, shopping and games.

Shilpa Ray, Bambara, The Veda Rays, Haybaby, Turnip King @ Shea Stadium
This is a pretty killer line-up of local bands, headlined by harmonium shredder Shilpa Ray, but also featuring voluminous bashers Bambara, the superior indie rock of Turnip King, and more.

Future Punx, Final Bloom, Eaters @ Death By Audio
Owing much to 1980-era new wave like Devo and Oingo Boingo, Future Punx come at you with flying angles. Their debut 7″ is just out and they’ll be celebrating that release tonight with likeminded bands Final Bloom and Eaters, plus Parquet Courts’ Andrew Savage on DJ duties.

Bob Mould, Chris Brokaw @ City Winery
Bob Mould’s solo debut, Workbook, is 25 years old this year and he’s celebrating that tonight. Hopefully Bob will be previewing a song or two off his just-announced new solo album.

Josh Ritter, Gregory Alan Isakov @ Town Hall
Josh Ritter and tourmate Gregory Alan Isakov will be keeping things simple and acoustic this weekend over the course of two sold-out shows. Tonight’s the first.

Swearin’, Even Hand, Certain Spiders @ MHOW
Swearin’ deliver an excellent take on ’90s rock with elements of Weezer, Built to Spill, Dinosaur Jr and more, but without ever sounding redundant. It makes for a thrilling live show too. This is their second of two NYC shows this week.

Color War, Doom Squad, Deanna Viva Garcia, Prince Rama (DJ Set) @ Baby’s All Right
Brooklyn duo Color War make the kind of icy italo synthpop that could’ve ended up on the Drive soundtrack. Their new album, It Could Only Be This Way (stream it below), is just out and tonight’s the record release show.

Moon Boots, Treasure Fingers, Henry Krinkle, Alex English, rekLES @ Webster Hall
Moon Boots is making some of the best material in this whole “house revival” thing going on with Disclosure, Duke Dumont, Rudimental and more, and he should have you on your feet all night at Webster Hall.

Guardian Alien, Vampillia, G Lucas Crane, Brian Chase of Yeah Yeah Yeahs @ Trans-Pecos
This bill is loaded with experimental music, including the drumtastic noise of Guardian Alien, the Boredoms-related Vampillia and YYYs drummer Brian Chase.

The Allman Brothers Band @ Beacon Theatre
Pioneers of jam bands, and progenitors of blues and southern rock, The Allman Brothers begin their multi-night run at Beacon Theatre tonight.

The Avett Brothers, Old Crow Medicine Show @ Barclays Center
The folk rockin’ Avett Brothers keep getting bigger and tonight they make the jump to headlining Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. They’ll be joined by the likeminded Old Crow Medicine Show.
