What's going on Saturday? (Young Galaxy, DJ Rashad, Com Truise, Kaytranada, Jack Name, Justin Townes Earle & more)

Young Galaxy in Chicago in 2011 (more by Chris Hershman)
Young Galaxy

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Young Galaxy, American Royalty, Bowmont, Late Guest (at the Party) @ Brooklyn Night Bazaar
Tonight’s BKNB show is headlined by Montreal’s Young Galaxy who make sleek, anthemic synthop, and the rest of the bill follows suit with beat-heavy Brooklyn bands. Admission is free, though the drinks, food, mini-golf, ping pong and crafts are not.

The Damnwells, Joshua Fletcher @ Baby’s All Right
Based in Brooklyn, The Damwells favor the kind of shambolic, twangy rock you usually get in the midwest. Having been around since 2000, the band are set to release their 5th album later this year.

Jack Name, Xander Duell @ Death By Audio
When not touring with White Fence, Jack Name’s solo material is a little more out there — like past the stratosphere. His new album on Ty Segall’s imprint sprinkles glitter on garage psych.

Justin Townes Earle @ City Winery
Son of Steve Earle, the apples don’t fall too far from the tree with JTE’s country-influenced — but not beholden to — style.

Com Truise, Phantoms @ Bowery Ballroom
The synthy Com Truise has been on tour since early February, and tonight he returns to NYC to conclude the tour at Bowery Ballroom.

DJ Rashad, Ikonika, Doctor Jeep @ Cameo Gallery
Two Hyperdub producers, DJ Rashad and Ikonika, team up to get the dancefloors moving all night at this late show (doors at midnight) at Cameo.

Kaytranada, Sango, STWO, DKDS @ 88 Palace
Montreal’s dancey Kaytranada, who has had a release on Brodinski’s label and has remixed AlunaGeorge, Disclosure and others, comes to NYC tonight on his way home from SXSW.

The Allman Brothers Band @ Beacon Theatre
Pioneers of jam bands, and progenitors of blues and southern rock, The Allman Brothers continue their multi-night run at Beacon Theatre tonight.

Houndmouth, Eastern Midwestern @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
The folk-rockin’ Houndmouth wrap up off their two-night NYC run tonight.

Pink Floyd Laser Spectacular @ The Space at Westbury
Paramount’s Pink Floyd Laser Spectacular, which “[presents] the music of Pink Floyd, as you have never seen it before,” returns to the NYC-area for its second of two nights. There’s an early showing (7:30 PM) and a late one (10:30 PM).
