What's going on Sunday? (Dott, Vampillia, The Internet, more)

Dott / The Internet
Dott
Internet

With 76% (or something) of the music world hungover from SXSW, there’s hardly anything of note going on in NYC tonight. You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are a few highlights..

Dott, Rad Dreams, Clairaudience @ Cake Shop
Irish band Dott make harmony-laden, early-’60s-meets-early-’90s indie rock. The band’s debut album came out last year via Graveface and the band are here tonight after a long week at SXSW. Local band Rad Dreams do the ’90s-style indie pretty well, too.

Vampillia, Jungles From Red Bacteria Vacuum, Zarigani$, Happy, Starmarie
Boredoms-related Japanese experimental rockers Vampillia played about a zillion NYC shows before SXSW, and now that they’re back our way from Austin, here’s yet another one. This one’s part of the “Japan Nite” tour and also includes Jungles From Red Bacteria Vacuum, Zarigani$, Happy, & Starmarie.

The Internet, Phony PPL @ SOB’s
The Internet, the soul duo of producer Matt Martians and singer Syd tha Kyd of the Odd Future collective, returns to NYC to headline this show with local support from Phony PPL.

Marsha Ambrosius @ BB King’s
R&B/soul singer Marsha Ambrosius, formerly of Floetry and a recent collaborator of Robert Glasper and Talib Kweli, returns to NYC for this BB King’s show tonight as part of her ongoing tour.

Hannibal Buress @ Knitting Factory
Big league comedy talent (Chris Rock, Louis CK, etc) show up regularly (and unannounced) for Hannibal’s very popular free comedy show at Knitting Factory’s front bar. Get there early.

For all of tonight’s shows, and tomorrow’s, check out our NYC concert calendar.

For laughs, check out the NYC Comedy calendar too.
