Brooklyn psychedelic band Amen Dunes have announced they’ll follow 2011’s Through Donkey Jaw LP (and 2013’s Spoiler which collected unreleased material from 2009-2011) with a new album, Love, on May 13 via Sacred Bones. The new album was recorded in Montreal with Dave Bryant and Efrim Menuck of Godspeed You! Black Emperor, and various members of that band play on several songs on the record. Sax great Colin Stetson is on it too, and Iceage frontman Elias Bender-Ronnenfelt sings on two tracks. It’s a bigger, cleaner sounding record than Through Donkey Jaw, and while still definitely psychedelic, actual hooks have replaced TDJ‘s shield of distortion/reverb. You can stream two of its tracks, along with the tracklist and somewhat NSFW cover art, below.

Amen Dunes also have many international tour dates coming up, including three scheduled NYC appearances at the moment. The first is when his tour supporting Mac DeMarco hits Webster Hall (4/9) for a sold out show there, and the next is as part of Rough Trade NYC’s Record Store Day (4/19) extravaganza with Fear of Men, Nothing, Palehound and more. That one is free.

The following month, Amen Dunes will headline a record release show in Brooklyn just after the album’s release on May 15 at Baby’s All Right with support from London experimentalist Helm and Hubble (aka Ben Greenberg of The Men and other bands). Tickets for that show are on sale now. All dates are listed below.

Speaking of Iceage and Ben Greenberg, Ben’s new band Uniform (with Michael from Drunkdriver, Believer/Law, etc) open for Iceage on their upcoming tour which hits NYC on 5/24 at Glasslands (tix) and 5/25 at Home Sweet Home.
