Boy George @ Irving Plaza, 4/22/2014
Boy George

George quoted Eckhart Tolle telling the crowd to stay in the now and songs included "Feel the Vibration," "Live Your Life" and George proclaimed that "love is bigger than war" during the track "Bigger Than War." George, who seemed happy to be back on the New York stage soaked up the love that the crowd (which included Miss Guy and Debbie Harry) was showering him with. He told funny anecdotes in between songs and thanked the crowd for not talking too loudly to each other during the new songs. He especially thanked the crowd for supporting his new album - [Accorging2G]
With a new solo album out, Boy George made his NYC live stage return last night (4/22) at Irving Plaza, part of his current tour. The two-hour set featured much of the new album, covers (Yoko Ono, Bread, T. Rex, Bob Dylan), solo material but just a mere four Culture Club songs ("Church of the Poison Mind," "Karma Chameleon," "Do You Really Want To Hurt Me?" and "Victims"). What, no "Time (Clock of the Heart)"?

No reason for Boy George to be making music, or even existing for that matter, in 2014.

I do not want to be a downer but no "Crying Game' or anything from 'Cheapness and Beauty'? No "Amazing Grace" ?

Yes, I agree with you Steve. The set list was bad. I didn't expect him to play that much CC because it says Boy George not Culture Club, but I was disappointed his older solo stuff. It was mostly just the new album. That would have been fine if he toured all the time, But this was his first tour in the US in years so I was surprised he didn't do his earlier solo stuff.
