Don't let the lack of vowels and the "Z for an S" fool you, Austin's Boyfrndz are not the next CHVRCHES, MNDR, or Bangerz. (They also aren't anything like Boy Friend.) Their new LP, Breeder, just came out last week (4/1) via Brutal Panda, and it's proggy post-hardcore with techy musicianship and falsetto vocal exercises for days (like with their labelmates Wild Throne, The Mars Volta is a reference point). If you haven't heard the record yet, you can stream it on Rdio (and order it here), and you can also now check out the video for one of its singles, "Shape Shifter," which premieres in this post. The video was done by Lobo Sucio Creative, and combines clips of the band performing with a murderous bloodsucker. Watch below.

The band are also on tour now, and as discussed that tour hits NYC this Thursday (4/10) at Saint Vitus with Unstoppable Death Machines. Tickets for that show are still available.
