Eyehategod released "Robitussin and Rejection" from new LP (listen +++ updated tour dates)

by Wyatt Marshall

Eyehategod at Saint Vitus, November 2013 (more by Caroline Harrison)

New Orleans sludge monsters Eyehategod unleashed a song off of their forthcoming self-titled album a couple of weeks ago, and now they’ve done it again with the album’s opener, the awesomely named “Robitussin and Rejection.” The track is quaking, punishing and bluesy, not likely to let any fan of the band down. As mentioned, the new album–EHG’s first in 14 years and first since the passing of founding drummer Joey LaCaze–features LaCaze’s drum tracks. Look for the album on May 27 on Housecore Records.

Eyehategod has tacked a short run of west coast dates onto the previously mentioned Baltimore show with High on Fire, Corrosion of Conformity (who are touring and playing Saint Vitus on 4/26) and more. They’ll also be playing the Dark Lord Day in Munster, IN, where Three Floyds Brewing sells its Three Floyds Dark Lord Russian Imperial Stout. The festival is the only place to buy the much coveted beer, and this year the festival will also feature performances from High on Fire Iron Reagan, Corrections House (which features Scott Kelly of Neurosis, Sanford Parker of Nachtmystium, Mike Williams of EHG, and Bruce Lamont of Yakuza) and more.
