King Buzzo w/ Melvins at Housecore Horror Film Fest, 2013 (more by Trent Maxwell)

Back in February, we mentioned that Buzz "King Buzzo" Osborne of (the) Melvins had made his latest predictably unpredictable career move -- he had recorded a solo acoustic 10" album titled This Machine Kills Artists, which is slotted for a June 3 release via Ipecac, and went on an accompanying March solo tour. Though said tour involved some SXSW appearances, it didn't hit NYC.

The first round must've gone well, because Buzzo's booked a much longer run of acoustic dates in June and July (plus an appearance at the aforementioned 2014 edition of Scion Rock Fest). This round does include NYC -- Buzzo is hitting Santos Party House on July 13 and The Wick in Brooklyn on July 14. Tix for the Santos show go on sale this Friday (4/4) at 10am; tix for the Wick show are on sale now.

Buzzo's also released a single from that acoustic recording titled "Dark Brown Teeth" a while back. Though "acoustic Buzzo" doesn't necessarily inspire confidence as an idea off the bat, the man's rhythm guitar work has always been impeccable, and his versatile singing voice has long been a key component of his main band's sound. This track produces flattering evidence of both.

Stream it, and check out the full run of Buzzo's solo dates, below...

His Mike Patton story was told where I saw him. Stripping down Melvins tunes does one thing, show how bad ass they are.
