The War on Drugs at Bowery Ballroom in March (more by PSquared)
War on Drugs

As you may know, the Northside Festival returns to multiple Brooklyn venues from June 12-15 this year, and includes Sharon Van Etten, Courtney Barnett, Fuck Buttons, Titus Andronicus & Eagulls, CHVRCHES, Albert Hammond Jr., Dead Milkmen and more.

There have since been new additions to the schedule, including two big outdoor, all ages shows at the 6000-capacity 50 Kent (formerly Williamsburg Park, entrance at N. 12th). The first is The War on Drugs on Friday, June 13 ($20 adv, $25 day of) and then it's Beirut on Saturday, June 14 ($35 adv and day of). Tickets will be on sale soon via Northside Fest's site. These not-free big outdoor shows are in addition to the free big outdoor shows in McCarren Park with CHVRCHES (6/15) and one more TBA.

Other lineup additions include Perfect Pussy, Pharmakon, Eleanor Friedberger, Lust for Youth, Diane Coffee, Talib Kweli, Ava Luna, Yvette, Benjamin Booker (touring with Courtney Barnett), The Barr Brothers and Shamir (live debut). More info on exact venues and individual tickets will be available soon at Northside Fest's site where you can also buy a festival badge (Early Bird Music Badges ($65), Innovation Badges ($245), Film Badges ($25), and Premium Badges ($275) are on sale).

There's also a film portion, including the NY premieres of Homemakers (dir. Colin Healey), the Oscilloscope-presented of Montreal documentary The Past is a Grotesque Animal (dir. Jason Miller), and Whiffed Out (dir. Jason Giampietro), and the Brooklyn premiere of Summer of Blood (dir. Onur Tukel). More info on the film portion here.

Wow, Perfect Pussy! I'm guessing they are headliners? They haven't come to NYC in awhile so this will surely be a treat!

Any real bands going to perform? I've never heard any of these. Faith No More was the best show on the waterfront to date.
