When you get right down to it, the Pet Shop Boys -- Tennant and his partner in sonic crime, keyboardist Chris Lowe -- are basically two guys in their late 50s with a synthesizer. So playing up the visual experience goes a long way in energizing such familiar hits as "West End Girls," "Rent" and "Domino Dancing." "We know the fans want to hear those hits," Tennant says, "and we comply. We enjoy playing those old songs."

There's also a batch of great new songs from their 2013 album, Electric, which didn't get the critical attention it deserved. But then, that's the way of things: The Pet Shop Boys have been ahead of their time for years. And what strikes people is just how well their songs continue to hold up a generation after they were penned.

Synthpop legends Pet Shop Boys brought their Electric tour to the states again, surrounding their appearances at Coachella 2014. The tour hit Altlantic City's Revel Casino Hotel last night (4/25), which gave an extra dash of winking irony to their hit "Opportunities (Let's Make Lots of Money)" which they played early in their lengthy, hit-packed, costumed set. Photos and setlist from the show are in this post.

The tour concludes tonight (4/26) in NYC for a sold-out show at Terminal 5. More pics from last night's Atlantic City show below...

What an eye-popping show, and great, colorful photography here! The Pet Shop Boys have done very well reinventing themselves over the years.

I was there at concert too!!
Great concert & I started to record this too, but after 5 min of them still not coming out on stage, I stopped & saved space for actual songs with Neil & Chris singing!!!
