Pharoahe Monch

Organized Konfusion member Pharoahe Monch released his fourth solo album, PTSD, this past Tuesday (4/15) and celebrated it on the day of its release in NYC at SOB's. If you missed that show, or just need to see him again, you won't have to wait very long. He's playing a Beat Society show in Brooklyn at Littefield on May 8. Tickets for that show are on sale now.

If you haven't heard PTSD yet, which features guest appearances from Talib Kweli, Black Thought, The Stepkids and more, you can stream it below.

Speaking of, Talib Kweli also has a few hometown shows coming up. He does a two-night stand at Brooklyn Bowl on June 11-12 with a 9-piece band and opening sets by Res & Niko Is. Tickets for those shows are on sale now, and the latter is part of Northside Festival, which means you can also try to get in with your Northside badge. Before those shows, Talib will do a free 2 PM in-store and signing at Rough Trade NYC on May 17. No wristband or ticket required.

All Talib dates are listed, with a stream of Pharoahe Monch's album, below...

The album release show was really good. Lil Fame of M.O.P. came out and did No Mercy and Ante Up. Probably the high point of the set. A drunk Rock of Heltah Skeltah also came out and did a song. There was some dude Torae who did a track. Pharoahe only had Showtyme out for three songs and Mela Machinko wasn't there at all. Theyre an integral part of Pharoahe shows, so it was weird without them. DJ Boogie Blind is dope though.

Not crazy about the actual album. Might grow on me, but the beats are really minimalist.
