Central Park Summerstage in 2013 (more by Dana (distortion) Yavin)
Summerstage

We already knew that the 2014 Summerstage season would feature Beck, Conor Oberst / Dawes, Delicate Steve / Marissa Nadler / Mark McGuire and Counting Crows / Toad the Wet Sprocket. Now the full lineup of free and "benefit" shows has been announced, and highlights of what looks like a weak year overall include Pro Era, Andrew Bird, Bonobo & Cibo Matto, Sam Sparro & Norma Jean Wright, Mobb Deep, Mykki Blanco, Ty Dolla $ign, a Pete Seeger tribute, a Frankie Knuckles tribute and many more.

Browse Summerstage's whole 2014 calendar, which includes Central Park Summerstage in addition to Red Hook, the East Village, Queens and more, HERE.

summerstage sucks

You know a lineup is lame when a fucking Counting Crows show is the most interesting one.

blood orange is in there, too.

I don't even know what to say about Sisqo being on this list.

No offense to Blood Orange but is he really a Central Park Summerstage headlining act? Yeah...a pretty weak year indeed.

Toad should be headlining with Crows supporting.

Is Dr. John worth seeing live? I really dig his early stuff (that Gris Gris album in particular) but I feel like what he'd be playing now might sound kinda corny. Bonobo/Cibo Matto and Blood Orange could be worthwhile. Overall, a pretty underwhelming lineup though.

A free Mobb Deep show in Queensbridge Park sounds like a good recipe to get shot.

1:28 You're 100% correct!

Bonobo is literally the only appealing show but thats a big one for me!

Hey I'm from Tinyburg, USA and out here parkz are for children. You'll see adultz in a supervisory capacity at a park, but you'll never see them laying, playing, and saying, "I love city parkz. It's cute time. Pass the egg whitez."

RE: Dr. John. His album from last year is fantastic. Crazy and funky and contemporary. It's like his early stuff in a lot of ways, but if the who made those records made cut the sides today.

It says that Andrew Bird is free.

Is the passenger concert free? It shows that it is. But then there is a link to tickets for 72 each. Thanks.
