Pure X / Sepalcure
pure x

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight's shows, but here are some highlights...

Danny Brown, Bodega Bamz, ZelooperZ @ Bowery Ballroom
Danny Brown's career really escalated with last year's Old, an excellent album of fast wacky rhymes and hard wacky beats. Tonight's the first of two sold-out NYC shows on his current tour. A$AP collaborator Bodega Bamz opens this one too.

Kayo Dot, Epistasis, Pyrrhon, White Suns @ The Acheron
Kayo Dot's experimental metal touches on tons of genres, heavy and not, and can be quite the mesmerizing experience in a live setting. Tech-death weirdos Pyrrhon (whose Doug Moore is a BV contributor) are worth catching as well.

Pure X, Woodsman @ Baby's All Right
After two big NYC shows opening for Real Estate, Austin's Pure X headline their own show tonight. The band's lovely new album, Angel, is gentle like mountain stream and this show could be a pleasant way to ease out of the weekend.

Atlantic Thrills, Liquor Store Savants, Worthless @ Death by Audio
Providence, RI band Atlantic Thrills make bluesy, Nuggets-style garage, hopped-up and wild-eyed. The band's self-titled debut came out back in February and you can stream a track from it below.

Sepalcure, Jubilee, Subset @ Body By Brooklyn Spa
Machinedrum and Braille both have excellent solo careers, and together they make great future garage as Sepalcure.

Unsound Festival
There's two Unsound shows today, including an afternoon show with Ben Vida at Experimental Intermedia; and a night show with Kapital, Paal Nilssen-Love & Robert Piotrowicz, and James Rushford & Joe Talia at Issue Project Room.

Lady Gaga @ Roseland Ballroom
The long-lived NYC venue Roseland Ballroom will be closing its doors in early April, but before then it will go out with seven Lady Gaga shows, this being the sixth.

Nina Nesbitt, The Lafontaines, Lau, Hector Bizerk @ The Studio at Webster Hall
Tartan Week NY kicks off with a line-up that is as disparate as it gets, other than all the bands are Scottish. Of particular note: Edinburgh folk trio Lau who have been named "Best Group" at BBC Radio 2's Folk Awards on four occasions.

Hannibal Buress @ Knitting Factory
Big league comedy talent (Chris Rock, Louis CK, etc) show up regularly (and unannounced) for Hannibal's very popular free comedy show at Knitting Factory's front bar. Get there early.
