thank you easter bunny bock bock

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight's shows, but here are some highlights...

Delicate Steve, Dustin Wong, Deradoorian @ Baby's All Right
Pasta lovers rejoice, as there is some gourmet noodling going on tonight with mostly-instrumental group Delicate Steve, the exquisite loop pedal work of Dustin Wong and Dirty Projectors/Avey Tare associate Deradoorian.

Joey Bada$$, Lil Bibby, CJ Fly, Kirk Knight, Nyck Caution, Black Dave, Mick Jenkins, Kris Kasanova, Shakespeare @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
Happy 4/20! (I mean Easter.) The Smokers Club is celebrating at Music Hall of Williamsburg tonight with an absolutely stacked hip hop show that includes local fave Joey Bada$$ and many other members of his Pro Era crew (CJ Fly, Kirk Knight, Nyck Caution). plus there's young rising Chicago rapper Lil Bibby and still many more. Sold out.

Inc., Ian Isiah, Shayne HBA (DJ), Special Guest @ Knitting Factory
It's a good night for alt-R&B at Knitting Factory with indie-leaning duo Inc. and auotune lover Ian Isiah (who plays with a full band tonight). Plus, they're promising a special guest.

Hank Wood and the Hammerheads, DIE, Savageheads, The Impalers, Razorheads @ The Wick (NY's Alright)
New York's Alright ends today with just one show, this 4 PM show at new-ish Brooklyn venue The Wick headlined by Farfisa-fueled garage punks Hank Wood and the Hammerheads.

Goatwhore, 1349, Inquisition, Black Crown Initiate @ Saint Vitus
The Metal Alliance tour just hit NYC's Irving Plaza last night with Behemoth, Goatwhore, 1349, Inquisition, & Black Crown Initiate. Tonight, everyone but the headliners take a night to squeeze in a smaller show at Brooklyn's Saint Vitus. Needless to say, this one will be getting more wild than Irving Plaza.

Koen Holtkamp (from Mountains), Mind Over Mirrors, Mike Wexler @ Union Pool
Koen Holtkamp of Mountains put out a solo album, Motion, earlier this year via Thrill Jockey which saw him making similarly excellent drone to that of his main project. Also on tonight's show are his likeminded Chicago tourmates Mind Over Mirrors and NYC psych-folk musician Mike Wexler.

Dead Brunch @ Baby's all Right
Before the Delicate Steve show at Baby's, you can get your 4/20 on with the (Grateful) Dead Brunch happening from 11 AM to 5 PM. Is anyone bringing weed tea?

Higgins Waterproof Black Magic Band, Lions, Sean Lennon (DJ Set), One Tusk (DJ Set), Still Life (DJ Set) @ Brooklyn Bowl
Tonight's edition of the free It's A School Night party is headlined by TV on the Radio offshoot Higgins Waterproof Black Magic Band and also functions as a listening party for the the album by Sean Lennon's Ghost of a Sabertooth Tiger. Free with RSVP.

Holly Golightly @ Rough Trade
Once a member of Billy Childish's band Thee Headcoatees, Holly Golightly has been solo for nearly 20 years. She just released her new album All Her Fault, which is another fine slice of raw rockabilly garage.

Brooklyn Folk Festival @ The Bell House
The three-day celebration of all things acoustic, rustic and down-to-earth concludes today.

Comedy Night @ Knitting Factory
Big league comedy talent (Chris Rock, Louis CK, etc) show up regularly (and unannounced) for Hannibal's very popular free comedy show at Knitting Factory's front bar. Get there early.

Lip Talk, Tomboy @ Glasslands
Formerly known as Railbird, Lip Talk make slinky, electronic-tinged pop. Check out their EP below. Brooklyn duo Tomboy open.

This whole 420 day is old, tired and pretty stupid and childish.

^ Thank you. I could not agree more. That being said, do any ya'll bitches remember the Dirty Projectors in-store at Other Music years ago? That shiznit was hooooooooot! I could smell a lil' 420, and the Phosphorescent dude was standing right next to me.

Weed culture is so fucking ridiculous and stupid. I may actually want to smoke it if it wasn't for the stupid fucking mongloids acting like complete fucking dolts every chance they get.

^ Friend, FRIEND! You really do make a fantastic point. May I suggest something to you? Thank you. The next time you wish to prove a point, please refrain from using the same descriptor more than once in a sentence. I grasp your desire to have "fucking" bring it on home with a powerful punch. But upon you using it twice ... that really places a wet blanket on your best intensions. It's something for you to consider, friend, the next time you're attempting to articulate such a stupid, fucking point.

^ Dear Friend. While I do appreciate your use of a comma where it should be, please do remember to capitalize at the beginning of the sentence and end with some form of punctuation. Thanks, friend.

Looks like Mommy and Daddy produced some Reagan Babies, who are just saying "NO!" (while drinking craft cocktails).
