Woods @ P4K Fest 2013 (more by Dominick Mastrangelo)
Woods

Woods' new album was released With Light And Love was released this week. Pitchfork's Ian Cohen writes:

Similar to the Men's Tomorrow's Hits and Future Islands' Singles, other 2014 albums by respected "lo-fi" bands recording in a "real studio", With Light and With Love is a reminder that while Woods' hard-touring, road-dog reputation has solidifed their fanbase, people show up in the first place because the band can write great songs.
Stream the whole album via Spotify below, and pick one up in an actual record store this Saturday aka Record Store Day. In fact, maybe you want to pick it up at the Captured Tracks Shop where:
they'll have "a bulk of RSD-exclusive titles, including RSD-exclusive titles from Captured Tracks!" Those C/T RSD titles include a live Medicine album, and a cool Flying Nun double-pack 7" with The Chills, The Verlaines and more. Not a RSD thing, but the store will be debuting monthly artist-curated record booths, the first two of which will be from Jeremy and Jarvis from Woods and Mac DeMarco. The store opens at a leisurely noon for Record Store Day and will be open until 9 PM.
More NYC Record Store Day options and events in our NYC guide.

Once acquainted with the record, come help Woods celebrate on one of their upcoming tour dates or at their BrooklynVegan-presented record release show happening on Tuesday (4/22) at Baby's All Right in Brooklyn. It's a Red Bull Sound Select show we put together with Weyes Blood, Cassie Ramone and The Woolen Men also on the bill, not to mention recent addition DJ Bill Pearis. Tickets, first come first served at the door, are just $3 if you RSVP. First 100 people through the door will get a ticket good for one of the black light-friendly posters you see pictured below.

If you miss the Baby's show, their tour with Quilt also hits NYC at Bowery Ballroom with Frankie Cosmos.

There's nothing wrong with At Echo Lake at all. So there's that. Pretty good live too.
