Dave Chappelle

As previously discussed, Dave Chappelle is playing Radio City Music Hall in June, and since we last spoke his June 19 show was expanded to a 5-night run (6/18-22) which are all sold out.

In addition to those comedy shows, Chappelle will also do three more shows at the venue from June 24-26 that include different musical guests each night. On 6/24 it's The Roots, followed by Busta Rhymes, DJ Premier (who's up to other stuff too) and Janelle Monae on 6/25, and finally Erykah Badu on 6/26. Each one will also feature a full orchestra. Tickets for all three shows go on sale Monday (6/2) at 10 AM with an AmEx presale starting Thursday (5/29) at 10 AM and a local presale starting Saturday (5/31) at 10 AM.

Havent heard about this man before and the details about him in here are interesting. He seems cool.

The musical partnerships are cool...except for Busta Rhymes, who is a straight up piece of shit.

What rock have you been living under, Kris?

That said. I always felt he has underused his talent considering he would be better than Chris Rock movies-wise. See I Think I Love My Wife and tell me that wouldn't have been a classic comedy up there with any of Richard Pryor's or Eddie Murphy's best comedies (in terms of comedy movies with premier black comedians) if Chapelle was the star in place of Rock who was a nerdass wimp beta sap in that. Rock is the black Adam Sandler: funny as shit onstage, a wet fart onscreen save New Jack City and Lethal Weapon 4 where he wasn't supposed to be funny as neither was a comedy.

Oh, D. You're baited by a spam comment and think Adam Sandler is funny. You're such a sad little man.

Shitty bands, why don't Dave just do more stand up?

Posted by Anonymous | May 28, 2014 3:52 PM

How would a show like this work? Does Dave come out as an opening standup act (what?!) and then one of these acts does a 90-minute musical set? Because that sounds rather anticlimactic.

You do know that pretending to be other posters, then making fun of your other self (? there is a Masters Thesis hidden in that thought!) doesn't fool anyone, right?

Nah shithead (3:40pm) and the only "sad little man" is you following me around like a puppy that hasn't been fed.

If you're not laughing at Adam Sandler's Lunch Lady Land you have no sense of humor.
