Jamie xx w/ The xx in Austin in 2013 (more by Tim Griffin)
Jamie xx

It was recently announced that NYC EDM festival Electric Zoo would be returning this year with drug-sniffing dogs, patdowns, plainclothes security officers, and a required anti-drug PSA after last year's festival resulted in two drug-related deaths (and one reported case of sexual assault and 31 arrests) which cancelled day 3.

Now the initial lineup has been announced and amongst all the EDM heavy hitters is The xx's Jamie xx. Other than that, it's the typical E Zoo type stuff you probably want to steer clear of like David Guetta, Zedd, Armin Van Buuren, Laidback Luke, Kaskade, Benny Benassi, Datsik, and more, plus many more TBA. They've been known to add cool stuff as the fest approaches, so stay tuned.

Electric Zoo goes down Labor Day Weekend (8/29-31) on Randall's Island. Tickets are on sale now. Full initial lineup below...

Did you really need to post this? I'm ready for the comments!

I see this festival wants to give CityFest 2014 a run for its money. Well I've talked New Jersey wedding DJ Kurt Kandell out of retirement. More later!

The first ever OFFICIAL POLICE STATE RAVE!

Why post this if you're telling everyone to steer clear of everyone except one person?

Posted by Anonymous | May 8, 2014 3:58 PM

No instruments allowed

Why not let the cops "book" the "talent" as well?

They're going to need to guarantee, on the ticket:
"YOU WON'T DIE HERE"

How can anyone do three days of strictly electronic music?

Posted by Anonymous | May 8, 2014 4:04 PM

3:58: Cause they're all not scarf/Pitchfork-y enough, of course! Pathetic.

JAMIE XX

Why the fuck would you take part in this?

Posted by Anonymous | May 8, 2014 4:09 PM

I have to admit, last year's festival was a real tragedy, but it the reactions on social media really made this whole festival look like a bunch of dingbats.

War against music.

Posted by Anonymous | May 8, 2014 4:32 PM

^You mean war against shitty music.

I can live with that

I bet that this line-up will overlap a lot with Coachella 2015.

No actual musicians were harmed (or found) during the making of Electric Zoo 2014.
