Foals

In the midst of their North America tour with Cage the Elephant, UK act Foals and J. Roddy Walston & the Business hit NYC on Tuesday night (5/6) for their first of two sold out shows at Terminal 5. Though Foals singer Yannis Philipakis did crowd surf, his wildman moves were kept in check last night -- no jumping from high places. We didn't stick around for the headliners but pictures of Foals and J. Roddy's sets are in this post.

They do it again at tonight (5.7). Pics from J. Roddy's set, and more from Foals, below...

why so many spanish people, why so many large women and old people?

1) Why did Foals play first and only 1 hour?
2) Wasn't the 2nd band Cage The Elephant?

RE: Spanish people. I was in Colombia last year and saw Foals play at a festival. They were surprisingly popular down there.

Cage the Elephant is the top bill? Wow.

J. Roddy is awesome, btw.

when I saw this announced I figured Foals was the headliner, damn, really glad I sat this one out

i also left after Foals - they did a shorter set than last year but they did go on second - was happy about that since i was out the door at 10:30 - why do they book three bands in one night - guess it sells more liquor that way - i saw what i wanted so i got my money's worth

foals setlist: same ten songs they always play

Posted by Anonymous | May 8, 2014 8:13 AM

haha, well they normally play more than an hour, so some of those songs had to have been cut, I'm gonna guess:

prelude
inhaler
my number
animal
spanish sahara
blue blood
miami
cassius
red sox pugie
two step

not necessarily in that order, amirite?

I'm glad we live in a progressive 21st century society where even eunuchs can have successful rock bands (and no, I'm not forgetting about Grizzly Bear!).
